Interesting that apparently both Cho and Grunwald were advisors for the organization over the past bit (not sure exactly how long). I'm waiting to see how things work out before passing judgement.

Glen Grunwald was the Raptors GM from 1997-2004

He built the franchises first playoff team before being fired in 2004 after missing the playoffs twice in a row after three consecutive post-season trips.

His best move was on draft night in 1998 when he traded the rights of the No. 4 pick in the draft, Antawn Jamison, for Vince Carter, who Golden State drafted 5th overall. Probably the Raptors’ most significant move in franchise history depending on how the Kawhi acquisition plays out.

His worse mistake was a move that was originally praised. That was trading rookie Camby for Charles Oakley. During the 1998 offseason because he thought the team needed veteran leadership.

Other moves made.

- Stoudamire traded for Alvin Williams
- Acquired Antonio Davis
- Signed Dell Curry
- Drafted Morris Peterson
- Lost McGrady in free agency, who wanted out of Carters spot light.
- Drafted Chris Bosh

Not a bad draft history with Carter & Bosh considering 3 of his 7 years was spent in the playoffs.

He spent 2yrs with the Knicks, was 90-58 over that span, including a division-winning 54-28 mark in 2012-13. It was the first time in 13 years that the Knicks had won as many as 50 games in a season.

- Signed an undrafted Jeremy Lin, which led to Linsanity.
- Acquired Tyson Chandler.
- Acquired J. R. Smith
- Traded for Andrea Bargnani which was considered a mistake from the start. I disagree, Knicks failed mainly because Felton replaced Kidd, who retired. Knicks didn't fall apart because Bargnani was brought in to replaced Novak off the bench. Half way through the season Bargnani was asked to start & by the end of season the upside bench acquisition was to blame for the failure along with Grunwald.

Subsequently when you misplace blame, it's been downhill for the knicks ever since.

Happy Birthday to Glen Grunwald, last guy who led us Knicks to a division title and playoff series win. Now President and CEO of Canada Basketball and senior adviser to the Grizzlies.
