Draft Day 2019

Post#1 » by boogiesdad » Thu Jun 20, 2019 4:41 pm

In an effort to just not have a mess on the boards today, let's confine all draft day talk to one thread. As it stands, MEM has the #2 and #23. Hopefully, we can walk away with a great draft since the organization has changed their entire philosophy this off season.

While this draft right now as going to become completely unpredictable, I think Keldon goes top 20 minimum. I would be shocked otherwise. I would rather have him than Washington. Not sure what Charlotte is thinking.

We are getting close. Keldon, Didi, Matisse still on the board. Goga too.

Charlotte has been questionable when it comes to their draft selections. No offense to PJ. I think they should have went with Bruno Fernando. They need to make some better moves towards rebuilding as they will lose Kemba eventually.

Unless they sign him to supermax so he can flounder around for the rest of his career, as he seemingly is okay with.

Goga gone at 18. Still Nassir Little, Keldon Johnson, Thybulle, Kabengale, Louzada, Fernando on the board.

Little's lack of offense has him going down the draft. I think if the Spurs or GSW picks this guy. Little will make them pay.

Bol Bol is still on the board after #18.

I see our options as:
SG
C
or trade down for multiple picks.

I would trade down for the Nets late 1st and early 2nd. I like a lot from what is available.

So we got traded forward to select Brandon Clarke. Don't hate the pick. His rim protection will be lacking with his limited wingspan, but the guy is an elite run jump athlete with a solid quick jump. He developed a lot at Gonzaga.

I hope we pick up some 2nd rounders or perhaps the Nets late first.

The Jazz will be selecting Brandon Clarke for the Grizzlies?

No we traded with the Thunder for 21 and gave them a future 2nd. So now Utah selects for OKC.

Kemba would be stupid to stay in Charlotte. Supermax or not.
