Jazz are currently sitting 16th in the draft with a near 500 record slowly imploding. They don't looks to be a better team this year without Rubio, Favors & Crowder …
1 game is the difference for them being 14th in the draft. Some internal issues & implosion could lead to Memphis netting a pick in the 8-12 range.
If Utah implodes, my 2020 draft = Wiseman or scoring wing top 6, Okoro with the Utah pick 8-12.

What are the protections on the Utah pick?

If it lands 8-14 this year, we get it. If it doesn't then we get it in 2021 if it is 8-14. If we still are owed a pick then we get it if it falls 4-30 in 2022 ("double" draft with 18y.o's)
At least JJJ had an ok game.

Yeah, 3J looking better made it easier to stomach the way they loss.
Jenkins is implementing a system he doesn't have the roster for. Not one of Memphis wings can consistently hit from 3. Take Jaren out of the equation, Memphis wings shot 6-26 from 3 for 19 pts. While Jaren & Jonas were 11-16 in the post for 22 pts.

Memphis continue to lose games on the 3 pt line. They shot 28% while allowing Utah to shoot 56%
Utah 21-34 for 63pts
Memphis 10-35 for 30 pts
33 point favor for Utah with 1 less possession on the 3pt line. If Memphis hold Utah to 35%, they don't win this game, despite Memphis shooting sub 30%.
At what point, when Grizz are not making their 3's, do they decide to attack the paint?. or is this part of a tanking strategy?.
25 empty possessions, is potentially 50 pts in the paint.
It looked to me like panic set in when Utah got hot from 3 & Memphis tried to match, instead of "pun intended", grinding it out. With Ja Morant out, the 2 most consistent offensive threats Memphis have, are post options. Jaren & Jonas.
Jonas 5-5 for 10 pts
Jaren 6-9 for 12 pts
22 pts in the post on 14 attempts vs 30 pts from 3 on 35 attempts

If Memphis had won this game. Utah would be currently 12-12, a half game out of drafting 14th, a game & a half out of drafting 12th.
Utah are on the verge of possibly imploding, it won't be long before players start to pass blame.
When it rains, it pours. Losing breeds, more losing, it's like a disease, mentally, contagious.
