I'd like to put in a request for this officiating crew to ref every Memphis game.

What happens when refs don't allow GS's undersized team to foul the **** out of Jonas.

Jonas - 31pt on 13-17 shooting, 19 rebounds 9 offensive, 2blks, 1ast. +24 (in 29 mins)

Brooks, Crowder & Morant shot 8-30

GS hit 17 3's on 50% shooting, + 18pts

Quite a few Memphis players had off games tonight. Yet Memphis won by 20 because they owned the post & boards. If GS didn't shoot the 3 ball so well & Memphis played to their potential, this would have been a massacre.

In there last 4 games, Spurs played Bucks, Celtics, Memphis, Raptors & their only loss was to Memphis.

The East are frauds.

I like that we are learning how to win. We won the second half this game. The Rockets are up next and they won't be easy.

And props to JV for carrying us this game when others were struggling.

GS may have been on an 8 game losing skid but Russell returned to the lineup & put up 34pts on 24 shots, 50% shooting, (5-9) from 3, where it wouldn't have been hard to imagine, if GS got that kind of production in their other losses ... With him back, they hit 17 3's on 50% shooting on a whole, to be +18 on the 3 point line but Memphis countered with 62 points in the paint to 26, to be + 36 in the paint for a 20 pt win.

It's pick your poison with Jonas & Jaren.

Normally, officials would allow GS/Greene to cheaply foul Jonas to cut him down to size but this crew didn't for some reason. They were fair to the big man which has been a rareity & as a result he dominated their undersized front court. Greene is only effective when he's allowed to play overly physical with Jonas, he doesn't have the length or skill to match him in the post. That's why he was out there crying for help.

Memphis are already #1 in paint points. Once they get a little more consistent from 3, their offense has the potential to be #1 overall, executed by Jonas & 2 20yo's. Ja doesn't just get assists, he manages this team. They're playing unselfish because he's playing unselfish (he doesn't pound the ball trying to do it all himself) & that's what I think separates him from someone like Young & Atlanta losing. He doesn't pound the ball into the ground with an occasional assist, he gets players involved so everyone gets going & then picks his spots. With Jonas having it tonight, Ja was just dumping it in, where another young PG might have decided they needed to do more than just trust their teammate. He sets the tone for this team being unselfish, I believe 2nd in assists.

Then Memphis had Jaren out there hitting 3's from near half court to keep their zone defense honest.

Jonas/Jaren, post/perimeter, pick your poison.

After last nights performance

Jonas 25mins - 15.1pts, 9,9rbs, 2ast
60.2 FG% / 44.6 3pt% / 77 FT% / 63.4 eFG%
22.6 per 3.2 WS
(15m)

For some reference

Jokic 31mins - 19pts, 9.9rbs, 6.4ast
51 FG% /34 3pt% / 79.6 FT% / 55.7 eFG%
24.9 per, 5.6 WS
(26.5m)

Casey utilized this talent like he was Tyson Chandler & is the reason Memphis now has him for 15m.
