That was a fun game to watch.
IMO, Jenkins needs to win coach of the year. Memphis had 6 players in double digits with a combined 29 assists.
Jaren didn't shoot the ball well but man did he bring it defensively in the 4th. Both he & Clarke, shut the paint down.
What else can I say, that's six & his name is JA MORANT.

When Harden came out hot, it looked like Houston was going to kick Memphis in the teeth but Morant responded with 11 of Memphis first 13pts, which spurred the rest of the team to join the fight.
How can a team not give effort when your 2 big men, Jonas & Jaren are diving all over the court for loose balls? …
Are we sure Morant is 20? he sure doesn't play like a rookie. ROY

The last time the basketball writers here at The Ringer grouped the league’s teams, we placed Memphis with squads like the Bulls, Cavs, and Wizards. They were bad, but not hopeless, we said. But that was December, and things have changed. On Tuesday, we collectively bumped them up to the playoff bubble, and that might not have been a big enough jump.

it seems like the only thing standing between the Grizzlies and a potential first-round playoff upset is a veteran player—maybe a wing—that can solidify their ability on both ends of the floor. Thankfully for them, they won’t have to look far.
The ringer looks like they think Memphis can make some noise & are calling for Iggy to join the rotation. Where I'd probably go with a Josh Jackson's call up

Got to love Ja's step back 3 on Harden. It's as if he was showing him how to do a step back without committing an offensive foul. lol
If NBA refs didn't have bias towards their popular/star players, Harden would have fouled out before the half.

I honestly don't know if Josh Jackson will ever wear a Grizzlies jersey

It's hard to determine that. Only the Grizzlies know what their plans are with JoJack. I think they are at least bringing him on perhaps after the deadline has pass. That's just my guess.

Why do you say that?
Do you know something or is it a gut feeling?.

Re: Game 41: Memphis Grizzlies (18-22) vs Houston Rockets (26-12) - 8:00 PM ET
I was watching some highlights & heard a comment that made me do a double take.
The announcer said Memphis had won 9 of their 19 games against teams over 500 mostly in their recent stretch, is that correct?.
Most playoff teams just handle their business against teams under 500, playing consistently.
If true, I think some would be thinking potential contender. I for one think if Memphis get Utah first round, they can potentially win that matchup & at the very least make the Lakers respect them as the 8th seed.

Gut. Maybe they will give him a shot if Crowder gets moved this deadline, but I also think there is a chance Memphis trades Josh Jackson to a team that will actually give the guy a shot. There were a few opportunities to call him up but we never did. I just can't figure out what the heck the FO is waiting for.
I'd much rather us give him a shot and see what we have in him, but I wouldn't be totally surprised by something like:
Josh Jackson for Andre Robertson+2020 OKC 2nd+2024 MEM 2nd - We get two meh 2nds and OKC gets a look at JJ while ducking the tax

Man I hope they give him a fair shake. His potential fit & talent as a big body defensive point forward at 22 can immensely boost the ceiling of this team. Like Melton who Suns also threw away for Javon, he was a poor fit for their team makeup, shooting under 30% from 3.
Can they potentially offer him an extension before calling him up?.

I don't think we can offer any extension and if we resign him I don't think it can be for more than the Team Option we declined. I don't see him making more than the 9.8m or whatever it was so that shouldn't be an issue if we want to keep him.
