Memphis go on a big 3rd quarter run, Kings can't buy a bucket but get 6 cheap FT's awarded in the penalty to keep Memphis at 7 heading into the 4th.

Anderson doesn't fit the starting rotation. He's killing the spacing & simultaneously the pace. Didn't help he let Barnes go off for 22pts in the half on 8 shots.

End of game with Ja trying to split FT's, why wasn't Jonas subbed in to rebound?.

As soon as Josh was subbed off court, Fox went back to nailing 3's.

Thanks, I had more but was too frustrated with the loss to post all of it.

Anderson refusing to shoot open looks, is killing the starting units spacing. It allowed the Kings to crowd & swarm the paint, while Barnes went a perfect 6/6 from 3 before the half. To compound the issue, he's too slow to run with Morant, so Memphis aren't getting transition points either. So they end right back up in the half court, with Anderson DHO'ing from his open looks as if he was a garbage man C & not a wing, wasting needless time off the clock.

So in the half court, Memphis had Brooks struggling to hit his shots & all 3 of Jonas, 3J, Anderson DHO'ing on the perimeter while the paint was to crowded for Morant to effectively drive. While both Barnes & Fox abused their man defense. I assume the lack of spacing is why Jenkins tried Marko, when in reality putting Melton & or Josh's length on Fox was IMO the best course of action.

Stopping Fox from getting to his spots so easily would have killed all the open looks Kings/Barnes were getting. Jenkins eventually did it 3rd Q, where Kings didn't have a FG the last 4mins of the Q until Bjelica's buzzer beater but then went away from that lineup that was working to get Ja back in, who was a team high -25, only to have Fox pick up where he left off.

The way Melton & Josh was playing I wouldn't have pulled him but fatigue could have been a factor in that decision, IDK.

I am not so sure that Kyle was the biggest problem. His impact, negative or positive, is limited due to his limited role. Ja was hurt by the All Star break, he wasn’t able to create neither for others nor for himself. Also, he isn’t a significantly better athlete than Fox, who in addition is always motivated when playing against Ja. On the top, Jenkins was experimenting with lineups. I was shocked when I saw Ja with Guduric and Dieng. Seriously, coach?
So yes - I am blaming Ja and the coach. The Kings should also be given credit.

Tyus - Melton - Anderson - Clarke - Dieng is an amazing bench; whereas, Ja should have played with Brooks - Josh - JJJ - JV. These lines should be a law going forward.

Oh, and Guduric should be waived.

Ja not showing up on either end of the floor till later in the game really hurt us. He elevates this team and when he is off, we come back down to earth.

IMO Anderson killing the pace & space is the reason Jonas got benched with 6 shots against a decimated front court & Ja had 2pts, 2 assists going into the half, not being able to find lanes. Besides being burnt by Barnes hot shooting night, it's the cause & effect of not having that necessary spacing which allowed the Kings to survive in the paint, with no front court against Memphis offensive bread & butter, paint points. With how Kings were shooting, Memphis clearly out rebounding them is the reason it wasn't a blow out.

- Same way, we could argue cause n effect. that Ja not being able to stop Fox from getting to his spots, is reason why Kings had the open shots to shoot 19 3's on 50% shooting.

- I agree, I thought Jenkins rotations could have been better.

- Also agree with waiving Guduric, if Memphis can pick up an actual shooter, which Guduric was supposed to be.
