It's a guess but I think roster & minute manipulation might have something to do with it.

Memphis have a lot of roster decisions to make.. They're currently playing 10 deep without Jonas, 3J, WInskow & Allen in the rotation. Anderson was one of the potential trade options this offseason not seen as a good fit but he has been playing exceptionally well so far this season. Is it not possible they're trying to get an extended look at Anderson seeing that Winslow at the start of the season was expected back already but is somehow still injured ?.
What do you think happens to Anderson when 3J & Winslow who have been out "due to injury" returns to the rotation?.. Teams have stretched injuries before to tank rosters, why not in order to get a better look at players who's future are n question?. It could explain why they have been quite about their injury progression & return dates.
3J & or Winslow returning may have pushed Anderson & or Clarke out of the rotation, not even considering Jonas starting.... Isn't it a good thing Memphis are getting a good look at Clarke as a starter with all these injuries ?
Was Jonas not cleared of Covid before the Spurs B2B? If correct, then why is he still in protocol? health & safety or the play of Tillman & Memphis getting a good look at him starting at C ?.
This could all be happen stance but II do think/believe Memphis could be manipulating injuries & Covid to navigate how they judge the roster moving forward.

I am buying this story. Well thought though.
So Grayson, Kyle, Dieng, Melton, and maybe even Clarke are all available by the deadline, aren`t they?

I'd assume everyone not named Ja/3J are under evaluation & potentially available.

Are you placing JJJ on the same level at Ja? I would still sell him though definitely for a top-5 pick.
