Got to give Pacers & Rockets credit for how well they played, both teams shot the cover off the ball on a team that was ranked 2nd defensively heading into theses matchups.

Ja let the contact, refs get into his head & was over the top in showing his contempt. Refs are petty & probably held it against him. The team unfortunately followed his poor showing first half.

Basketball is a game of confidence & it looks like the Pacers stole the teams MOJO baby, yeah..

Jonas killed the team defensively the last 2 games. A tone of wide open 3's & easy layups. He also didn't secure defensive possessions by grabbing rebounds, he didn't deter players from entering the lane with his size & physicality, he didn't protect Ja from the physicality & his efficient offense didn't put any pressure on the Rockets defense as Ja helplessly swung the ball to lesser playmakers when he got bogged down in the half court. Sure would have been nice to be able to dump the ball down into a player for an easy 2 instead of always being on your heels defensively.

Magic too failed to realize when they traded Olidipo for Ibaka, you can't sacrifice offense for defense, there's 2 sides of a court. The fact Magic struggled to score resulted in good defenders putting up poor defensive #'s as they were constantly playing defense off of poor offense, getting frequently burnt in transition off of failed possessions because no set defense, negates good defenders.

As I've stated before, the same way teams can generate offense through defense (transition), same way efficient offense/rebounding can impact defense, this is why Jonas has a good defensive rating but poor advanced stats in relation to Dineg/Tillman & Melton who also have good d-rtgs but the advanced defensive stats to match. Jonas offensive efficiency, physical impact & rebounding impacts his D-rating where the advanced stats show his obvious defensive flaws..

I only got to watch a few minutes of the first half. Ja looked bad and Tyus good in those few minutes but overall it seems like a rough performance. JV will hopefully provide a shot of energy for us before too long.

It seems like Ja has finally reached his sophomore crisis. I blame him for those two losses. He ruined our collective defense and he failed to compensate it on the offensive end where he was just average to say the least. We`ll highly likely see more losses until he gets back on track.

Not sure how you can relate the loss to Jonas not having an effect. He only played half the game being his first game back in a while (game legs) & was an efficient 9-11 for 23 & 7. Responsible for both Memphis runs.

Nothing he or a better defensive big could have done in 24 mins to overcome Ja & Dillon shooting 7-31.

NO's started their run with Dieng on court 4th Q. 3 offensive rebounds that led to a Bledsoe 3 shifted all the momentum for NO's to close out the win. Not sure how you can pin the L to Jonas not having any impact.

Whatever, trade him & see.
