Allen en fuego from 3. Only reason Memphis are in this never mind leading at the half.

I love Tillman's game.

Jonas needs to be better 2nd half.

Better..

Didn't hurt Anderson turned into Reggie Miller at the half.

You could see when Memphis got their Mojo back. Right after Kyles 3rd straight 3, 3rd Q.

Basketball, is a game of confidence.

When Memphis hit their 14th 3 in the 3rd quarter, they had 99pts with more than 3 mins remaining. In contrast, when the hot shooting Raptors hit their 14th 3, 3rd quarter, they had 85pts with less than 3 mins remaining .. I mention this because Charlotte is supposed to be solid defensively.

In Charlottes attempt to control the paint & Jonas.. most of Memphis 3's were open to wide open. Which brings me to how Bane looked with the starters, specifically, Ja/Jonas drawing attention.

As long as we set the franchise record from three every night, we could be pretty good this season lol. CHA also attacked Ja less than the previous couple teams.

It was a record setting night so you laugh at the possibility but the reality is most of those makes were open to wide open looks. It's why we were calling for Bane to start, to make those open to wide open opportunities that Memphis were missing last year being #1 in paint points yet again where teams have to strategize like Charlotte did to contain the paint. (Which Jonas is a good part of, especially on the glass).

What was unexpected is Anderson's growth & consistency from 3.

Just as Klay's ability from 3 makes Curry more dangerous from 3, so does Bane's presence allow Anderson to be more open. Just need Ja to become more of a threat himself & then it's trouble for teams to contain.

When fans judge players like Dillon for his shot selection & percentages, very little consideration goes into his role & defensive pressure. He's currently being asked to play a role he's not suited for. Same thing with the recent interest in Pascal. Kawhi was taking most of the defensive pressure which resulted in Pascal earning his max contract.. with Kawhi gone,, he's shooting 46% from the field & under 30% from 3 as a max player...

I'm hopeful Memphis don't mess with the front court because I think they're only a 2 way wing & time away from contending for a title. The team is currently at 500 without 3J playing a game where his presence would have changed the complexion of several losses & they have the quality depth & picks to potentially trade up the draft for said missing piece if they don't position themselves for lottery luck.

The top 4 teams in the league currently have Gobert, Gasol, Lopez & Embiid at C,

Clippers are the only team in the top 6 without a traditional big man.

Just saying.

Basically Kawhi's presence in T-Dot created a fallacy with Pascal's abilites to be more than what Pascal truly is long term. Same way with Dillon not being a true shooter although he's given the green light to shoot like he's Klay Thompson or Ray Allen.

As for the frontcourt, I agree, I don't expect it to be tinker with too much unless it's coming from the bench for other reasons. It's the lack of scoring that must be address. Will that be address at the deadline or will they wait it out for the upcoming draft.
