It was a record setting night so you laugh at the possibility but the reality is most of those makes were open to wide open looks. It's why we were calling for Bane to start, to make those open to wide open opportunities that Memphis were missing last year being #1 in paint points yet again where teams have to strategize like Charlotte did to contain the paint. (Which Jonas is a good part of, especially on the glass).
What was unexpected is Anderson's growth & consistency from 3.
Just as Klay's ability from 3 makes Curry more dangerous from 3, so does Bane's presence allow Anderson to be more open. Just need Ja to become more of a threat himself & then it's trouble for teams to contain.
When fans judge players like Dillon for his shot selection & percentages, very little consideration goes into his role & defensive pressure. He's currently being asked to play a role he's not suited for. Same thing with the recent interest in Pascal. Kawhi was taking most of the defensive pressure which resulted in Pascal earning his max contract.. with Kawhi gone,, he's shooting 46% from the field & under 30% from 3 as a max player...
I'm hopeful Memphis don't mess with the front court because I think they're only a 2 way wing & time away from contending for a title. The team is currently at 500 without 3J playing a game where his presence would have changed the complexion of several losses & they have the quality depth & picks to potentially trade up the draft for said missing piece if they don't position themselves for lottery luck.
