Up to 34 halfway through the 3rd compared to 24 for the good guys.

Great defender but his offense is offsetting his defense. IMO, he's a bigger version of Brooks, except I'd trust the inefficient Brooks taking a shot from 3 more.
Anderson is not as good defensively as Winslow but his 2 way game is more impactful..
IMO Grizzlies issue has been their offensive efficiency, not their defense.

Offense is very much the big problem. Ideally Winslow takes the toughest wing defensive assignment, provides a little secondary playmaking/creation, and takes 5-8 shots a game that are all great looks or else he keeps the ball moving. Brooks is similar except you give him the toughest guard defensive assignment and rely much less on his secondary playmaking. Still can rely on his shot creation a little when needed but ideally he is an emergency option rarely used.

With Ja struggling from range & Dillon being inefficient, Memphis can't have Winslow struggling offensively or in a minimalist role, there'd be no adequate spacing for either Ja or Winslow's play making ability. It's why the offense has taken a nose dive.. The defense would be even better if Memphis didn't give up easy offensive possessions.
Unfortunately, Ja regressing from 3 was an unexpected development.

Early in DeRozan's career he too couldn't buy a foul playing for the lone Canadian team .. It wasn't until he started playing for team USA did he start to get some ""respect". Which then led to his name in the Allstar game, which led to more "respect..
That favorable whistle is a popularity contest, (Building a brand) The more known/popular you are, the better the treatment.. If the opportunity arises for Ja & or Jaren to make team USA ... that exposure would be to theirs & Memphis's benefit.

I think Ja and Jaren both didn't make the upcoming USA roster sadly
