When did Memphis get stops & create some separation in the first Q ?

When Bane was subbed in for Allen. (22-11)

Bulls with a 20-5 run against the bench but Memphis head into the half up 1.

Can't wait for 3J & Melton to be back in the rotation.

What did Bulls trade for Vuc again?

Jonas >

Jonas should have had 5-6 & 1's. He's scored 60 pts in the last 2 games with 17 offensive boards and only got to the FT line 3 times, lol

It was a bad day for Chicago and Vucevic. Otherwise, they would have won this game easily. We showcased the same type of problems.

JV>Vuc this game fo sho.

Agree with ESVL though that we have some problems. In the play-in/playoffs, teams will really scheme and game plan against us and we may have a rough go of it unless Ja does his Superman routine he seems to do in big games.

As you said before, JJJ’s return should address those concerns.

Outside of Jonas Memphis starters shot 18-51 with 8 TO's, They didn't exactly play on point either. Dillon was most notably shooting on tired legs with a 5-19 night.. That's 14 empty possessions & a possible 42pts.

If, if & buts were candy & nuts.. Memphis could also definitely play better themselves & Jonas has a history of playing Vucevic well. so this was nothing new.

& as a long time Raptor fan who has seen every playoff minute, Jonas recent play is what he generally looks like in the playoffs & reason Raptors have beat everyone in the East besides the Cavs until KL, glaring defensive issues, warts & all.

& yes, 3J will address the areas Jonas is weak at. Together making a dominant C rotation.

JV is better than Vuc, period.

ON a Raptors playoff team Jonas averaged 8 shots a game on the same 60% eFG. WHereas on a non playoff losing Magic squad Vucevic had carte blanche averaging 15 APG on 51% eFG.

Now in Memphis with Jonas able to put up 12 APG, he's averaging 17/13/2 in 27mins on the same 60% eFG & if it wasn't for injuries the 22 win team he joined could have & possibly made the Playoffs in not one but potentially both his full seasons as Memphis currently sit 8th seed.

It's not as though Vucevic is any better defensively either.

Jonas is not only better, he's better value with a 15m contract..

ESVL continues to underestimate him & his impact.

Remember at the beginning of the season when JV wasn't on the top 100 NBA players for ESPN and Sports Illustrated? He rarely gets any credit, and never complains about it either.

His personality is huge. Him and Kyle should and, I want to believe, do serve as examples in this regard: humble, hard-working, low-ego, never complaining, nice guys.

I don't really follow any rankings to know but IMO Jonas problem is that he's not flashy/popular outside his teams fan base in a league that caters to popularity/ratings & players they can hype.

In this Bulls match, watch the highlights

Watch on YouTube
. You'll see that Jonas was clearly fouled 4 times at :32, :50:, 1:20, 1:34 which should have resulted in & 1 opportunities but he only got to the FT line twice in this game, 3 times in the last 2, while putting up 60pts, predominantly in the paint. That's 5 FT's total in 2 games with 30 + attempts in the paint & 17 offensive boards where in the video I posted it's clear as day there should have been more FT attempts.

If that was Embiid or Zion who are averaging something like 12 FT's a game... Jonas would have had another 30+ game vs Chicago instead of 26pts. They know who's game they want to inflate/hype. One play in particular, Vucevic hits Jonas in the head on defense with no call, then on the next play draws a cheap shooting foul on him which gave him some offensive momentum 3rd Q.

Want to know why he wasn't listed top 100?.

He's not a popular player/name/brand..
