Adams used to be better defensively but he's been declining rapidly.

If I were a betting man, I'd put 20g on Memphis not making the PO's next year.

But that's just because we are likely to trade Anderson right?

I think they might trade Anderson too..

Jonas individual numbers'/stats don't accurately depict his impact & Memphis will soon see what I've been harping on in his absence as Raptors have recently found out that Baynes lol, I mean Adams, can easily replace Jonas..

Many a Raptor fan claimed Baynes would easily replace Jonas too

Adams has been bad going on 2-3 years. Almost unplayable in the playoffs, targeted in PNR to point where you have to take him off the court.... worse than even JV in space.

Yes I would take Oubre on a 1 or 2 year GTD contract over him easily. Yes Oubre is a low iq player but I think surrounded by the right mix of player he will be much more useful than Adams.

Something like a 3/51 declining contract with no GTD on the 3rd year. We might have to overpay the market value on him to get him to take a non GTD year. But it actually doesn't hurt our available cap the next two years and we can waive him in year 3 for free. GS gets its center upgrade, we let JJJ and Tilman man the center and bring in a Vet center for the room exception, Cody Zeller maybe?

Ja/Jones/Melton
Brooks/Bane
Oubre/Anderson/#10?
Anderson/Clarke
JJJ/Tilman/Room exception center (Zeller type)

Left off Bledsoe since it sounds like we are rerouting him.

I'd almost try to offer him as much as possible to have the last two years not be guaranteed. Opens up cap space next offseason and if he works out I believe we can waive him and resign him for a more reasonable deal. I like the overall thought though.

Where does every see Bledsoe potentially going?
-Kuzma+22+min salary from the Lakers? Feels like an overpay by the Lakers considering how bad Bledsoe was this year plus they want to surround LBJ with shooting which Bledsoe doesn't provide. It does get them off Kuzma's deal though if they are having second thoughts.
-Bledsoe+10 for Hield+9 if SAC wants off of Buddy's money?
-To Dallas in a Dwight Powell based deal along with maybe Josh Green as the incentive? Maybe buy Bledsoe out and put all his money on this year so that they can chase free agents next year which sounds like their plan given their new hires.
-Bledsoe+Anderson+10 for Wiggins+7 with us adding one of our cheap young guys or a 1st or something?

It is hard to see what deal may be around the corner for a guy who supposedly won't make it to Memphis

Lakers: I cannot see them including 22. Maybe the swap someone from the Harell, KCP, Gasol, Kuzma group. My hope is they take Bledsoe into a Schroeder TPE, but I have my doubts he is signed to enough money. I would do KCP straight up if they are interested.

Sac - I rather not take on Buddy unless they guy we want is at 9 and we think NO is going to take him. Rather route Adams there to get off more future money and they might could use him depending on what happens with Holmes.

Dallas : I would do Adams for Powell just on the money savings. I doubt they would be interest in Bledsoe

I would do that GS trade and many other iterations.

I posted the link on the page prior. Lakers want 2 2nd round picks for #22.

What do guys think about a Bledsoe/Adams for Kemba/small incentive like picks 35/36. Kemba as a sixth man making 36 million is not ideal but will be more useful than Bledsoe/Adams. OKC brings their favorite son home and clears 20 million in salary at the cost of some early 2nds.

Memphis uses 35/36/40 ..maybe the Utah 1st to jump back into the 18-22 range.

I have similar reasonably good expectations. Let’s not forget that JV was also traded to Memphis almost as a filler. See who is he now.

I’ve changed my mind on Adams. This trade seems now as a birthday present then.

Eh if Bledsoe isn't rerouted in a different deal then I'd probably be okay with that. Ideally Kemba rounds back into form. We will need to find a big bodied backup center but that's a later problem.

Adams DFG% the last three years have been bottom five for starting centers. He has lost a lot of mobility. He is a good vet to have around the team and give 10-15 quality minutes but that is about it. He is a shell of his former self on Defense now.

Val percentages and D really didn't change when he came to Memphis, we just gave him more usage. His numbers were good in Toronto as well, he had several seasons with a 7+ win share there.

I will be happy with any trade that nets us expirings and removes Bledsoe's 2022-23 gtd. Maybe he give up that GTD in a buyout? If we don't extend JJJ early then we should be a cap space team next year and should be preparing for it.

I have no faith in Adams being anything good for us so I am for any trade that decreases or even better eliminates his 2022-23 salary as well.

My understanding is that we only traded JV because we couldn't keep both Anderson and JV. If that is the case, I am happy about this trade. I am excited that the Grizzlies are looking to move up and hope they have their eyes on Jalen Green or Bouknight as Ja's running mates. This draft has the elite level talent at the top to really transform a franchise and I think that we will realize moving JV is worth it down the road. If we don't get either Green, Kuminga, or Bouknight, then this is a little problematic for me.

I like Adams as someone who can bang down low with the bigger centers. For smaller centers I'd start Tillman or JJJ. If Adams is truly our starting center then he likely will be bottom 10 at his position where as JV was top 10. As a backup I think he is fine though grossly overpaid.

I have a hard time seeing us getting an expiring for him unless Adams balls out for us an we move him at the trade deadline for a dead weight expiring. As for Bledsoe I have trouble coming up with a good trade candidate that would offer an expiring.

I wonder if we try to shave a few million in any future deals in order to use that little bit of generated cap space on a Kyle extension that increases his salary for this year. It would clearly be a lower priority relative to moving up and getting additional assets and whatnot, but if deals are equal I could see us trying to make it happen.

I believe Adams will likely recover some value and, as a result, can be moved during the season. He is a Tier 2 caliber starting centre. There should be a market for him.
