With the Penny led Memphis Tigers picking up both Emoni Bates and Jalen Duran, feels like a thread on them is more than warranted. I can't wait to see what that team does though I think it ill be a rocky start.

Bates and Duran looked great last night granted it was Tennessee Tech. Barring sanctions I love our chances of making the tournament this year.

This season is not going well. We really need a high quality PG on offense. Lomax is great on defense but that's it. No one to set the others up.

As a precaution, some of these players have goine into isolation and protocols as they can get the issues sorted out. It's been a turbulence for sports players nationwide with COVID-19 numbers running up once again.

Tigers lose a close one to Gonzaga playing their hearts out. Couldn't be prouder of our team after a rough start to the year.

They really should have won this game. They had the Zags on the ropes. Duren got into foul trouble and they stopped scoring for a large stretch. I like what Coach Penny has done and respect what he did in this game (bringing NBA exploiting matchup techniques), but I would have loved to see him use more timeouts to break up the Zags' runs. His strategy was to tire the Zags out, which is the model for beating Gonzaga, as Alabama was able to do this early in the year. However, guys like Dandridge were clearly gassed late in the game and the Zags continued to push the tempo for easy layups. Giving him and some of the others a little time to rest and then reassert their tempo could have made all the difference. But, hindsight is 20/20.
