We need him to play an entirely different type of game for us than he played at Purdue. He's only played organized ball for 6 years and he's still learning the game, so hopefully he'll be able to adapt and have success with us in the NBA. One thing is certain, I think our guys will welcome him and do everything they can to put him in a position to succeed.

Hope all is well. I fully expect you guys to have a huge bounce back season next year. And I am particularly excited to see how Edey fares in your front court.

I think he's ended up in the perfect place: in the Grindhouse, next to a floor spacing PF, with an elite PnR point guard.

It's gonna be so much fun to watch you guys rise back to the top of the standings.

Some pre draft notes from an Edey thread i had going for the Hawks:

We only got to see him for a few minutes in Summer League, but he looked significantly more mobile than I expected. I'm excited to see what he can do on the offensive end with our real roster (including Ja as a tablesetter in particular) and whether we can implement some defensive schemes (even if they're all basically just JJJ flying around off-the-ball, closing airspace) to mask his shortcomings on the defensive end.

Yeah, based on the feedback he got after the 2023 combine process, Edey dropped weight to become more agile/mobile and has looked much quicker as a result.





It is ironic, Edey has missed more games to injury in Summer League than in his entire collegiate career combined.


I'm just waiting for that first matchup between him and Wemby. It'll be epic!!!
