It would have to be a Ja centered trade. Cannot see them working well enough. Likely Edey out too, with JJJ playing center next to Giannis. Don’t think Milw would do it.

I do wonder if Det is willing to let their own FA walk to operate under the cap. They could likely get Beasley or Schroeder back with the room exception if they make a big offer on Aldama. I don’t think the Nets should lock in cap space on him, too far away to clog up their cap space with mid sized contracts. Decisions will have to be made weighing matching Aldama and paying to dump Clarke if we go the JJJ redo route.

This news comes amid a handful of trade rumors about Morant, with his future in Memphis seemingly in jeopardy. However, those trade rumors could all be smoke. Commercial Appeal's Damichael Cole reports that Morant's relationship with the Grizzlies has remained strong.

"All indications are that the relationship between the Grizzlies and Morant remains strong," Cole wrote. "...The Grizzlies have also continued to prioritize Morant as a franchise cornerstone."

The commitment between Morant and the Grizzlies is no surprise here as the Grizzlies are showing they are locked in with Morant leading the way for the Grizzlies.

As far as Giannis to the grizzlies is concerned, it would take too much to acquire him. Given the Bucks future state, they will need a lot to take back to rebuild their future. The Grizzlies can't fully afford this move. Teams like the Nets, Rockets, and Spurs are the true likely scenario teams for Giannis to go based on the future picks they have in the chest.

As for Aldama, I don't know what number he's looking into for as years contractually. He's a decent backup for a playoff team and a can be a starter for a rebuilding team. So the question comes down to the money or playoff experience.

I think we likely get outbid as well, but I could see a scenario were they just want the single best player back and would consider a Ja/Edey/2 1sts package. That would be the most I would be willing to pay.

Return to Memphis Grizzlies
