Next FA for the Grizz

Post#1 » by SD2042 » Thu Jan 10, 2008 9:12 am

Looks like the Grizzlies may sign free agent SF Bobby Jones to a 10 day contract on Thursday. This will mark the second time a FA has been with the Grizzlies since the departure of Tarence Kinsey.

How about this - since they aren't utilizing that slot anyway, why not have a "FA for a Game" contest.

Must be present to win.

Winner receives a court side seat by the bench and a check equivalent to what a one game check would be for a player signed to a 10 game contract.

Guaranteed to put more fans in the seat than the sub scrub that would be brought in on the contract...

^ Creative idea.

But we can't do it.

Would make the Grizzlies look worse than the Hawks from a business/marketing perspective.

Now you are paying fans to come to the games.

Meh - aren't we though?

BTW - you gonna try to call Heisley tonight and ask a pointed question or 2?

Not quite as bad as the Hawks. At least the Hawks of 2 years ago.

I am tempted to...but I don't think I'll be available to.

I wish we could email questions.

Do you know if we can?

The impression I got was that they would be taking calls only.
