Who: Memphis Grizzlies(12-29) vs. Orlando Magic(26-17)
When: Wednesday, January 23rd
Where: FedEx Forum in Memphis, TN
Time: 7:00 PM CST
TV/Radio: FSN/ WRBO 103.5
Season Series: Grizzlies lead 1-0
Team Trivia Connection: Current Grizzlies player Mike Miller was drafted by the Magic in 2000 where he later won the Rookie of the Year Award for his achievements.

The Lowdown

The Grizzlies are coming off the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday victory for the Chicago Bulls 104-90 in front of their first sellout crowd this season. The Grizzlies also recorded a historical period as four starters had double doubles.

Rudy Gay 24pts, 10rebs
Mike Miller 24pts, 10rebs
Pau Gasol 12pts, 10rebs
Michael Conley 10pts, 10 dimes

The Grizzlies will take on the Magic for the second and final time this season. The first time these two teams met. The Grizzlies upset the Magic in December at Amway Arena 123-119. Rudy Gay scored a career high 32pts and Juan Carlos Navarro had 27pts in that win. This time, the Magic will look to even the score at FEF. The Magic are coming off a clutch win over the Detroit Pistons 102-100 on Monday night. Although Chauncey Billups did the four step to hit a bucket. It was no match for Rashard Lewis as he hit the 2pt dagger to earn the Magic their 26th victory of the season. Hedo Turkoglu led the way with 26pts and 8 dimes and Dwight Howard had 23pts and 8 boards in the win. So will the Grizzlies make it a sweep against the Magic or will the Magic get even?

Clawmark Tracks of the Game

1. Outrun the Magic on offense. Perimeter offense must be in tune.

2. Make Shard and Hedo work for their shots.

3. Keep the rebounding numbers in our favor.

I don't know about you guys but I sure wish Coach I would utilize the bench better. We have entirely to much talent not to be 29-11 instead of vice versa. I really like the squad he had on the floor with Darko on the bench. He needs to do what Bynum did over this past summer and get as much help as possible. But in the mean time, he could act like he had a clue of what's going out there on the floor. But hopefully this will be a game that he turn it around and torch his old team. I think the Grizz goes on a 4 game win streak for the first time this season.

In the last matchup against the Magic. Rashard Lewis missed that game. I wonder what kind of impact he will have in tonight's game vs. his absence from their last matchup.

According to the CA. Pau Gasol is questionable for tonight's game against the Magic. He sat out practice today with back trouble. He received some treatment while the team was practicing. Right now, Gasol is listed as day to day with a sore back. So he should be playing tonight, but his minutes might be scaled back just a bit to keep his back in check.

Stro just schooled D12! Looks like he didn't like it...

58-48 Orlando at the half. They're 10 for 17 from 3pts...the Grizz are lucky to be only down 10.

Well Stro pump faked and D12 bited on it and jumped early so Stro made the easy dunk. Then, Stro fouled him on the floor and Dwight looked mad that he couldn't get back at him. It looked like Darko and Stro had fun for a while trying to keep up with him tonight, which is not easy.

But Orlando killed us from downtown plain and simple...and you can't win games while turning the ball over all the time! :nonono:

Good luck to you guys too, btw.

The Magic went 18-33 from beyond the arc. 6-8 of those came from Hedo Turkoglu. Plain and simple. The Grizzlies played poor defense on the perimeter. And didn't help matters playing with butterfingers tonight with turning the ball over 15 times. Whether it was players not paying attention to passes or passing carelessly into coverage. The Grizzlies didn't care about the second half. If they did, they wouldn't played half-ass like they did tonight.
