The Commercial Appeal has learned that the Grizzlies have traded Pau Gasol to the Los Angeles Lakers for center Kwame Brown, rookie guard Javaris Crittenton and first-round draft picks in 2008 and 2010.
The decision was made that the Grizzlies could no longer move forward with Gasol on and off the basketball court.
The deal allows the Grizzlies to gain salary cap relief, as Brown is in the final year of a deal that pays $9,075,000.
WOW..

It seems like a really crappy deal for Memphis, especially what they might have gotten from the Bulls at one point.

Wow just wow this is so far away from what the Bulls were offering before...

You guys cannot have done this to us. Cannot. Please. Oh pleasepleaseplease...
I am totally sick to my stomach. Actually ill.
We could have given SUCH a superior deal last year when we had PJ Brown's expiring contract. Heck, we could have done better this year. And you already have young point guards in Conley and Lowry!!! WTF????

I've been saying TRADE Pau Gasol for 4 years. I never freakin' said GIVE the dude away.
This is str8 up horrible. Now I see who was screwing up the Boston Celtics all these years. Chris Wallace should be tarred, feathered and ran out of town on a rail. Better yet... this is all Heisley. ALL Heisley. The next time Heisley is flying to Memphis, I hope his plane *Almost* Crashes and he gets scared into crappin' his pants.
On top of that, they didn't even take the Cardinal contract.
FURIOUS!!!!!!!!!!!

what was the best offer from Chicago? if it was Ben Gordon and expiring deals then I'd rather have money to build around Gay.

Hey maybe you'll get lucky and someone will fail the physical. Wink wink nudge nudge and a bidding war will insue, like Damon back in his Toronto days. Don't count on it though.

Wow. You guys got totally ripped off. This is REALLY Bad.
I mean i'm sure the Heat would have offered something like
Jason Williams
Fillers
and there 08 first.
Or maybe the bulls.
And the only young talent you got back was a position your stacked at?

Very surprising, but I think it should be obvious that this trade wasn't for the player Kwame Brown, it got us 2 picks and KB's expiring contract which will allow for signing this off season, it opens up 10 million and there's gonna be some good FA's:
Josh Smith, Emeka Okafor, Elton Brand (ETO), Shawn Marion (ETO), and Antawn Jamison

Bad trade for you. I can't believe we were rumored to give up Jefferson and Green for Gasol. The Lakers got him for much less.
