I said.
You can think I am crazy or that I am just showing my pity for Pau's deal. I was born in Spain and I follow the Spanish ACB League and I have followed all Marc Gasol career. His progress in the last 2 years is being amazing, and now he is leading the efficiency race in ACB. He is a hard worker and a very intelligent player, but also he is SO big and he can shoot from the 3-point-line with good rates of scoring. Very efficient on 1 to 1 and not bad on defence -he is much more intense than Pau and he is improving fast on it-.
I am absolutely sure Marc will be a starting center in NBA, and you will be happily sourprised with this guy next year.

Yeah but...when's he planning to come to the NBA? Just because you have his rights doesn't mean he has to come over right away...

Well, this case is different as MG has recently said he's dreaming on playing on the NBA soon and his contract in Spain expires at the end of this season. If Grizzs want him to come and he sees that he might have some minutes on the court, he will definitely join the team for next season.

if we traded for him, it can only mean we have plans for him.
lakers front office has been tracking him for over a year now, and they reportedly wanted him in a lakers uniform come next summer. which means he had value for them.

I think this is one of the most underrated, underreported aspects of the trade.
Marc Gasol is a very good prospect. The only downside with him is that he was a 2nd round draft pick, which means he could command significantly more than the (approx) 4 year, $5m per commitment that a first-rounder can have.

The other side of that is he can't demand/command anything. The team that owns his rights hold all the cards. The only way that Marc can come over to the NBA is by signing a deal with the team that holds his rights, so unless he agrees to their terms he doesn't come over.

You won't be saying that about Darko at the end of the season. His hook shot looks crisp these days, his shotblocking instincts are there, his rebounding is improving and he looks pretty smooth with the ball. He has no confidence but the talent is there. I know I am the only one to see it though, lol.

Trading Marc Gasol for nothing or for almost nothing, as read here from some of you guys or on analysts's reviews of the recent Pau's trade, would be a HUGE mistake. I am pretty sure he has enough potential to become a decent starting #5 on this league. Its role on the recent trade seems to be bastly underrated on press and supporters perception.
