Somehow I doubt Pop's joking here. Come on, the sports nation is talking about how dumb the Pau trade really was on the Grizzlies part in spite of them trading for salary relief.

I won't say he's fuming mad here. I might call a case of dry humor mix with some dark humor to a degree. Here's why.

It affects his team and the rest of the western conference, so it' is his business.

I agree with Pop. Will go down as one of the 10 Worst trades of the decade. Perfect example of something for nothing. Only real "Hope" for this trade is if Kobe actually Opts out.

the laker trade by itself isn't really that dumb.....

it is only dumb if you start comparing it to what Gasol could have been traded for....

yes, i believe we could have and should have gotten more for gasol...

but trading gasol, even for an expiring contract, was the right move for memphis.....he wasn't a MAX guy....he isn't a MAX guy....and in the future he won't be a MAX guy....

memphis can suck just the same without gasol as we can with gasol.....

This trade probably guaranteed that Kobe doesn't opt out.
