Why not just Buy Out Kwame Brown?
You might save 10-15% on the contract... you obvoiusly don't want to resign him or play him?
If i am Kwame I'd want that to happen and then sign with a team that needs him like Orlando, San Antonio, Celtics, New Orleans, Dallas, etc..

no, it wouldn't save us much.....
we would have to sign another player, that would eat into that 10-15%...
we need players and kwame is a player....even though he doesn't have a future with the Griz, doesn't mean we can't keep him and play him here and there...
he has a chance to prove himself the rest of the year and get a better contract next season, he should take advantage of it.....
not every freaking nba player deserves the right to get bought out and play for a "winner"....
are you the only kwame brown player fan in the world?

After watching Kwame, what contending team would want him wasting a roster spot for the playoffs???

Laker fan. I like his low post defense.
Thats only going to make a impact if the team is already very good where he can focus simply on D with Pau Gasol as your primary scorer inside the paint. This is with Bynum out
Kwame defends Yao Ming, Duncan, KG very well 1 on 1

So does Darko.

no he does not.. lol..he fouls way too much and goes for too many block shots. and gets beat off the dribble.
kwame doesn't do alot of shot blocking but he does the other things defensively very well. A contending team would love him to match up against another big man ala Dwight Howard, Tim Duncan, KG, etc..

So he stands there! We've seen that, and notice that he is not playing. Darko is far more active than Kwame on the defensive end, and no as stated above it costs the Grizz more money to waive him than it does to just keep him keeping the seats warm.

I would love to see how any of those 3 teams "need him".
Kwame sucks, Memphis needs bodies, Kwame has an expiring contract, Kwame is still a Grizzlie.
Kwame will still sign with some NBA team in the offseason in spite of everything. Because whether you like it or not hes still a 24 year old 7 footer with loads of "upside".

NO HE WON'T
As a guy who watched Kwame in Wash and in LA, don't believe any good you see from this guy. Cut him and save yourself from the pain.

Agreed. Especially if you have a PF who is the low post option for the team where Kwame doesnt have to be a option in the post. Just have him focus on 1 on 1 D
As a Laker fan i think he would be perfect for them now because Gasol will handle all the scoring from the interior. You start Bynum and Gasol and you can sometimes go with Kwame, Gasol and Lamar up front with Kwame guarding Yao Ming, Duncan or whoever the dominant low post player is for the other team.

So why isn't Kwame getting much playing time? Is Darko taking up all the minutes at the center position?
Kwame has very low basketball IQ, his head isn't always paying attention to the game as he wonders off looking at the crowd for some movie stars or a bug crawling on the basketball floor wanting to follow it to see where it will lead him; but Kwame has athletic and physicality to take it with the best of them once he is focus. Put him in a match up against Duncan and he could very well surprise you. In at least one game against the Suns in the playoffs, he was a scoring machine playing great defense against Amare. He'll disappear in the next game but still providing the dirty work.
But on a losing team with nothing to play for, I am starting to see why Kwame wouldn't play.

... because we need the best lotto pick we can get, and Kwame gets us closer to that.

Darko actually gets the best lotto pick by him being on the floor. Kwame at least is not a negative player.
