Not if he doesn't start playing defense.

Offensively, he's fine, he can score and he isn't too bad at rebounding. He is sometimes a black hole on offense but, that seems to be getting better now that Pau's gone and his minutes are greater.

BUT,

defensively, he's already at a disadvantage because he's smaller than most that he is called upon to guard. Then, he gets lost quickly and just collapses to the basket leaving his man to go and do what he wants.

Until he stops that, he can't be a franchise anything.

The Grizz won't win with Warrick as the starting 4. He's a very nice guy to have coming off of the bench, but if you're depending on him to win...

The Grizz's record with him starting (this season and last - when Pau was injured) speaks for itself.

It's absolutely a fair representation when you balance what Hakim has done for the Grizz against what Pau did with the exact same talent around them. Hak's a quality rotation guy. He's not a franchise player or All Star caliber player. He's not even a starter on a winning team. That's my point.

we'll i agree with you that hakim warrick will not be an all-star ... if i remember pau was only an all star once ... in terms of teams playoff teams he would start on i belive he would start on probably orlando moving rashard to 3 and hedo to a 2 or bring him off the bench... the 76'ers as of right now would be in the playoffs ... he would probably start on the nets ... hed start on the rockets... maybe on the nuggets with there uptempo style ... so there are teams that are playoff teams that he would start on ... the question of whether you guys are a better team with or without pau is obsured... your not very good with either... im not trolling im just saying look at your record this year you guys have the 3rd worst record in the league ... so with pau in your lineup or hak its not like you guys have a big drop off in either

I understand you're not trolling. I understand that you're a 'Cuse and Hak fan. He was a great college player. We've watched him, closely, three years in Memphis. He's just not an above average NBA player. He is what he is.

 :nonono: :noway: :banghead:

If Warrick is a co-franchise player on any team, that is a BAD NBA team. He is not a co-franchise player on our team, and we are still a BAD NBA team right now.

Is he a franchise player? No, but he can be a part of your core. Conley, Gay, Warrick is a nice foundation to build your team on.

If you have to ASK if a player is a Franchise Player, then the answer is No. There are currently NO franchise players on the Grizzlies roster.

I believe he could be a very solid starter on your team....

I am a Warrior fan, I will love to have him on my team and I think he can be starting PF.

I'm a Grizzlies fan and have watched Hakim night in and night out throughout his career. He's not an NBA quality starter. I'd love to see him as the starting 4 for Golden State. :p

Please get me right, look at Hakim Warrick tonite's performance....

17 pts, 13 rebs.

I mean I am not saying you guys supposed to pray for him being the main guy, but being the third or fourth option.

No, what I'm saying is that he should be a 7th or 8th option in an 8 man rotation.

A co-franchise player would not be the 3rd or 4th option, so i guess you've just answered your own question with an emphatic "no".
