conley jr?

Post#1 » by #1knickfan » Sat Apr 5, 2008 1:24 pm

I know he's supposed to be your point guard of the future but from his stats he is only averaging 4 assists a game despite averaging 25 minutes. Is there a reason for this other than not having Paul Gasol around because that doesn't seem all that impressive.

In this mock offseason type thing the guy representing the Grizzlies is looking to deal Conley for a very good lottery pick. I am the Knicks and since I have really no shot at Rose I was toying with the idea. His stats so far seem kinda underwhelming but stats don't tell the whole story and thats why I came here.

The fact that the Grizz would probably consider this should let you know everything there is. It is pretty much unanimous that if Rose is on the board and the Grizz are picking from the #2 position on that Rose is being drafted by the Grizz.

Furthermore is Conley the best point guard on the Grizz, this is actually debateable?

As unfair and impatient as it may be in judging him at this point in his career, he has not really distinguished himself from J. Critt. or Lowry.

I have hopes for Conley, he's shown flashes. But not enough to pass on Rose by any means.

Mike Conley Jr.? Well, I believe if the Grizz will have the #2 pick, they will draft Rose and trade Conley.

The best trade is to move Conley to a team that needs a PG and at the same time a lottery team like Portland.

How about Conley & the pick from LAL for Frye & #13?

I hope if the Grizz do draft Rose, they can get better than that for Conley. I'd rather seem them package Conley with Warrick or Miller and get a better pick and a player or a better player and a lesser pick. Frye + 13 doesn't do it IMO.

If you draft Rose, are you willing to trade Conley, Lowry & Miller for Banks, Cook, Blount & Heat's no. 3 or 4 pick?

Cardinal & Conley for Rose & the #5 is not a bad deal.

Yes it is. Conley is a good prospect but he is not worth a top 5 lottery pick +an exchange of an expiring for Cardinal.

POR would probably like a deal like that or similar. Other possibilities involving M Miller would also be viable with POR adding an expiring LaFrentz and likely more.

Yeah, I was kicking around an idea like that as well. Frye and the 13th pick isn't a bad return on Conley. If you sit on a prospect too long he loses his value. We wouldnt' give that up for Adam Morrison or Ray Felton, but maybe last year we would have...

I know... I'm biased, but I have to think Critt with the same minutes all year Conley had would have established himself as the #1 pg on your current rotation.

Biased and incorrect. Watching them night in and night out since his arrival, no amount of extra PT will make JC a better 1 than Conley - or even Lowry for that matter.

If Critt is going to become something of value in this league, it is going to be as a SG. He has shown NOTHING of value to suggest that he will ever be a PG that can direct a team. He is a slasher that has trouble finishing. Right now he has shown that he could be a back-up SG.

To me, from what I've seen and heard about Critt. He could've benefit from another year or two in college. That way, he could've continue to better his game.

news flash to all non-griz fans.....

JCrit is not a PG in the NBA......in memphis he did not record a single minute of play with him at PG (every single minute he played was next to either conley or lowry)....

sd2042....I also think Conley, like JCritt, could have used another year in college.....
