Who Will You Select With #5?
I'm a Knicks fan. Right now I have my mock as this...
Bulls - Beasley
Heat - Rose
T'Wolves - Lopez
Sonics - Bayless
Memphis - ???

OJ Mayo if he is still on the board, the only team we will have to watch out for is Minnesota at #3.
If he is not there than Randolph from LSU would make the most sense.
If the Bulls were to draft Rose #1 then I hope we could package our pick and Mike Miller to Miami for the 2nd overall pick and draft Beasley. I doubt they work with Wallace on that though since he was so flaky with them at the trade deadline.

Why would we give up on the classy player system and draft a troublemaker in Mayo? Remember our team with Bonzi Wells etc, that West dismantled? He did so for a reason. Our fans are not going to tolerate this schmo, who is overrated at this juncture anyway. Trade the pick for next year. Please do the right thing Grizzlies management.
Even with Rose or Beasley, I would have traded this year's pick. But, now that we're stuck at number 5, we have no reason to acquire a skilled big man in Lopez, when we traded our best one for absolutely nothing. If the goal was to build a team that does not complain and possesses a mean streak, Mayo could be a chemistry killer. Plus, we already have 3+ point guards who are all subpar. (with the exception of Lowry) We need the next coming of NBA star- Rubio is the best player in the world for his age group and has far exceeded even the great Drazen's numbers at this stage in the game. Go for the hype Grizzlies. Trade with a future bottom feeder for next year's draft.

Randolph makes no sense whatsoever. He's a 6'10 Sf at this stage of the game who needs so much work. He's a huge project who is maybe 4 (at least) years away from reaching his potential. His body is completely underdeveloped and he shoots midrange all the time. He can block shots, but he is not going to get any playing time. He'll get manhandled at his current weight by the physical NBA talent. No way we need him with Gay already looking like a promising young prospect.

I read that he dropped a lot of weight and will be very impressive in workouts.
Still I think there will be a stigma surrounding him because he isn't an ultra flashy athlete. I see Love as the most likely to fall to the 11-17 range. That's where I think he will end up when it's all said and done. Of course, this is all speculation. But, I don't think his skills are conducive to workout scenario testing.
He's not blazingly fast, nor is he mindnumbingly athletic.
He is an athlete who is deceptively quick for his body type though. However, what you cannot test in these settings is one's complete vision and overall package. Love brings a lot of intangibles.

I'm wondering if Bulls pick up Rose, then Heat won't be getting the PG that they really wanted in Rose. Maybe they willing to take #5 + Lawry + (one more player?) for their #2 pick and Memphis can pick up Beasley.
Conley
Miller
Gay
Beasley
Darko
JCN off bench
with Gasol rotating between PF/C
Crit between PG/SG
Meh probably won't fly with Heat... although it does give them more decent players and bench players as they have a lot of holes on their roster. Just way too many D-league level players on that roster.

If by 'one more player', you meant Gay, then yes they would probably do it. Miami is not giving up the #2.
