He actually handles the ball and moves more fluidly than KG. Will the grizzlies really let him fall past #5. As a knicks fan I would like to see him be our power forward of the future, he would be a stud under Mike dantoni.

Randolph's a name that Wallace has mentioned as being "in the mix."

A lot of posters are sour on Randolph, but with a little muscle he could be an elite power forward. He would immediately have the best upside on the team and when building thru the draft can we afford to pass on him if Mayo is no longer available at the fifth pick?

I don't know how Stromile Swift's shadow has loomed so large over every big man from LSU. It is so immense now that people almost forget that Shaq is from LSU, Chris Jackson (Mahmoud Abdul-Rauf), and Pistol Pete Maravich are more famous as pros from the University. Maybe it is as Grizz fans that this is case since our dealings with Stro have been so frustrating. Please remember that Stromile Swift is Karl Malone compared to the biggest disappointment of LSU big men - Stanley Roberts.

Brandon Bass looks really strong too after ironically escaping the state of Lousiana with the Hornets.

I'm going to call it right now- Randolph wasn't the best prospect on that LSU roster- Tasmin Mitchell was. Of course, he didn't play last year due to injury 3 games into the season, but he still is extremely polished as a defender. He's built and possesses the height and range to play the 3 in the NBA. But, I'm getting off topic- that's my rant for next year or two years if he obtains the redshirt.

As for Randolph, he is extremely, extremely raw. Sure, he has a pretty shot and has nice fluidity getting to the basket. His midrange game is pretty for a 6'11 player. Still, he's a complete beanpole and will be relegated to shooting jumpers until he puts on 50 pounds. He has nice shot blocking instincts, but he will fail as a one on one positional defender. He certainly doesn't have more potential than anyone on our roster. His ball handling is weak. While he is fluid, he will never be able to maintain position deep (where he makes most of his athletic cuts to the basket). This is a serious problem that will probably haunt him throughout his career.

This guy is not worth the 5 pick. We don't need to keep waiting on such talent when we already have Rudy Gay at the three. Randolph will never play the four, so it is completely useless drafting him. I mean, if he had some versatility, I might consider it a decent move. But, right now, he is way too raw to obtain major minutes in the NBA.

How many times have you seen him play?

Enough to know that while I wouldn't be devastated if we draft him, I would still prefer a couple other guys in the post over him.

I disagree. I believe that we are already devastated and his presence will fix absolutely nothing for at least 3 to 5 years. Plus, he plays the same position as Gay.

After listening to one of the guys from draft express talk about Randolph this morning(730 espn), I would be devastated if the Grizz drafted him. There was nothing positive said about him. This guy said that Randolph and Jordan were two of those guys that GMs foam at the mouth about, but usually end up being busts!

I am down to Gallinari or Love unless something radically changes.

We gotta find a way to move this pick imo... NJ?
