Portland/Memphis counter offer

Post#1 » by 541Blaza » Thu May 29, 2008 9:06 am

Say Memphis was willing to bargain a little after KP declined their offer. I think this trade would be a little more fair....

Blazers trade:

Martell Webster
Jarrett Jack
Raef LaFrentz
13th overall pick
Joel Freeland

Grizzlies trade:
Mike Miller
Mike Conley Jr.
Brian Cardinal

The Grizzlies then draft OJ Mayo with their 5th pick or Eric Gordon etc., and draft DeAndre Jordan at the 13th. They save money on Cardinal and Miller and land some decent prospects.

The Blazers upgrade at two positions. While Miller isn't agreat defensive player he's a deadly shooter and a veteran who's played world basketball and allstar games. He'd combo well with Jones, Outlaw, and Rudy. Conley is a pretty solid choice on the slim pickin's of high basketball IQ right now. He'd fit well with Blake and has obviously played the pick and roll with Oden a thousand times already. Cardinal can take LaFrentz place as another backup big. Losing Freeland kind of sucks, but we would still have McRoberts.

Blazers 2008-09 Roster

PG-Conley Jr./Blake/Rodriguez
SG-Roy/Fernandez
SF-Miller/Jones
PF-Aldridge/Outlaw/Frye
C-Oden/Pryzbilla/Cardinal

Grizzlies 2008-09 Roster

PG-Mayo/Crittendon/Lowry
SG-Webster/Jack/Jacobson
SF-Gay/Warrick
PF-Milicic/A. Brown
C-K. Brown/Jordan

What do you guys think of this trade? Is it fair?
