Perhaps turn this into a 3 way with Minn and Wizards swapping players to make the money work.

I really like Nick Young and think he is as good an option at SG as any player in this draft. Still, he hasn't been able to get that much playing time in Washington and figures to get even less if they retain Arenas. The Wiz do this because it makes them a higher seed and better team in the immediate future. Of course, we also get rid of BC's contract.

This next trade is two fold. First, we make room for Nick Young to start by clearing out the incumbent and continuing to dump cap room that we could use to lure a big time FA. Next, we get another future asset that could turn out to be a very good to average pick in next year's draft. Minnesota might not want to give up that pick, but I think it would at least be tempting to get a big time scorer at SG and gives them a lineup that can be very competitive next year.

While Mike Miller's game might fit the wolves, his age does not. He would have more value if he was traded to a team closer to the play-offs.

MIN would also have to give up the valuable Antoine Walker $9 mil expiring as well.

But most importantly, MIN owes LAC a future 1st anyway (top 10 protected until 2012), so they can't trade away a 2009 first anyway. They do own MIA's first (top 10 prot in 2009, Top 6 prot 2010, then unprotected).

You might try to work this into a three team trade. I think MIN has some peices that would be appealing to the Grizzlies, and the value is fair, but the fit isn't there for the Wolves.

Nick Young and who else? He was barely a lottery pick last year, and he hasn't shown much as of yet. I might do it for the following:

Nick Young, the Wizards' 18th pick, and a future No. 1 FOR the Grizzlies' 5th pick and a future 2nd rounder. It seems like a lot, but I'm still not sure I would do this as a Grizzlies' fan. I mean, OJ Mayo is likely to be available, and he might end up being special. Young could easily be a bust, and its hard to "get it right" at 18...

Perhaps we could alter the trade to something along these lines:

Jazz
Incoming: Miller
Ougoing: Millsap, Brewer

Now we have a roster of:

PG: Conley, Lawson (28), Crit
SG: Young, Brewer, Navarro
SF: Gay, Webster
PF: Millsap, Arthur (13), Warrick
C: Gasol, Milicic

Much more depth than we've ever had, more defense, and no stiffs.
