It is very likely that one of the following players will 'fall' to the Grizzlies. Are there any of these players that you would not want the Grizz to take at #28.


Mario Chalmers
Brandon Rush
CDR
Courtney Lee
Bill Walker
Alex Ajinca
Nicholas Batum
Roy Hibbert (my least favorite)

Most of these players are projected to be selected before #28, but we all know there are always players that slip down in the draft.

A) Who do you think might 'slip' to 28?

B) Who would you like to see the Grizz be able to realistically select at #28?

For me I like what I have read about Courtney Lee and would love to get a legit SG to go with this team!

None of those guys with the exception of CDR, Chalmers, and Walker could slip to us at 28 imo. I would love Chalmers, Rush, Hibbert, and Batum on our squad, but we can only do so much. If any of them slip, I feel that it is a no brainer.

As for who I would not want: Ajinca and Lee. I understand that people see poise in Courtney Lee, but I have watched him so much in college. And, to me, he really does not look like a first round pick aside from his athletic gifts. He is very tentative on the offensive end in in-game situations. He disappeared several times when Western Kentucky was playing rival South Alabama. Sure, he has the ability to explode, but I still do not trust him as much as some of those other prospects. I would not be opposed to having him on the Grizzlies, but I feel that he is a bit overhyped at this point.

As for Ajinca, the guy is raw beyond belief. He has unreal upside with his combination of length and athleticism. I just wonder if he will ever add bulk on his frame. If he did that, he could have been a lottery pick without a doubt. But, that is a real concern for me.

I have already said that I think that it should be between Mario Chalmers, JJ Hickson, and Serge Ibaka. If none of those guys are available, it means that either someone slipped, or we should go for Nathan Jawai. As for Jawai, how will he fit in the Grizz faster paced offense? It's already an adjustment moving from the Australian league to the NBA in terms of the speed of the game. Throw in a higher octane offense, and I could see him having some difficulties. However, every team needs a bruiser inside and Jawai is certainly that.

Memphis will never put Mario Chalmers on their team, even if he's better than MJ.

What if we trade Conley Jr. or Lowry? What is the issue then? Wallace has a personal vendetta against him?

Right now there's talk about you guys trading Kyle Lowry and the No. 28 pick to Denver for Linas Kleiza and the No. 20 pcik. I think its a great deal for Memphis. Thoughs?

Yes, the Grizz should make this deal if it's available.

Win/Win for both teams. Therefore, it'll never happen.

I hope it does not happen because I want Lowry as the future point guard of our organization.

No, no he isn't. He may well end up being a better pg than Conley, but this front office will move him before letting him win out over Conley, all things being equal. Unlike the Jacobsen/Warrick situation, Conley's a #4 pick - Wallace's pick, and Heisley will let Wallace dictate this course.

does Memphis want to stick with 2 first round picks and 3 point guards? Indy wants a second first round pick and needs point guards. what Pacer players might you like ... Granger doesn't count.

IMO, Memphis and Indy are really bad trade partners. Granger is the only asset that would get the Grizz to part with Lowry or the pick, and the Grizz couldn't even use Granger because Gay would be in front of him.

That's complete bullheadedness.......giving up what may be better for the franchise, simply to satisfy his own ego.

Chalmers isn't the need. Bill Walker could be a steal of SG that late. PF is the other spot to address in that area.
