What do you guys think of Darko?

Post#1 » by DowJones » Fri Jun 27, 2008 5:39 am

Cleveland fan here and I want to know what you think of Darko and where do you feel he fits in with your team? I know you guys want cap-space for 2009, but are you willing to get rid of Darko for an expiring contract? I'm just wondering...thanks.

BTW, I love the deal for Mayo. I am impressed with a Conley-Mayo-Gay trio.

I think the Grizzlies will stick with Darko. He's a good 7-footer and he's relatively cheap compared to what other centers in the league make. He's obviously not a superstar but he's a servicable big. It looks like after the Pau fiasco Wallace made some decent moves. Their roster is very young but they have good players at all 5 positions and some depth as well. I expect them to be bad again next year but they will probably show some promise as a team.

Conley/Lowry/Critt/Jaric
Mayo/Buckner
Gay/Walker
Arthur/Warrick
MGasol/Milicic

If Arthur is a true PF, this will be the first time since the Grizz have been in Memphis that they have not had a starter playing out of position. The Grizz have not had a decent true SG since Dickerson!

I don't think about him. I wish he weren't on the team.

I'll keep Milicic until we know what we have with Gasol. I wish we could get Josh Smith somehow to play the 4 though... that would be a very nice team capable of getting 35-40 wins this year I think.

Given our lack of size and depth in the frontcourt, (unfortunately) Darko is worth more to us than what anybody would offer IMO.

We cant trade Darko now, at least with cavs. Now we need Bigs.

Im not sure yet if gasol and Darko can play at the same time. I am wondering how good is Arthur. And if warrick will play like he ended the season. Is toine here to stay? maybe he can help.

sounds like Walker will be bought out and not required to even set foot in Memphis.
