Grizz fans...put me onto Conley

Post#1 » by PerkinsFor3 » Thu Jul 10, 2008 6:15 pm

I have to admit I didnt see any Memphis games last year, so I'm wondering what to expect from this little guy. He impressed me in college, although I was suprised he was drafted that high.

Also bc I thought Lowry played really well at your pg position.

School me on Conley please!

Conley's a classic dish first style pg whose shot needs to improve. Many see him as an eventual 10 assist a game guy. A big change that he's completed over the off season is a workout regiment that's packed on 8 lbs of muscle to his upper body that seems to not have affected his speed at all.

His rookie year numbers compare favorably with Deron Williams, and the hope is that he can develop into a Tony Parker-esque PG in the future; but with Mayo and Gay on the wings, he'd probably be more of a distributor, versus scorer, than Parker has ever been IMO.

Picking him last year shouldn't have surprised you too much, as Lowry only played the first 10 games of his rookie year (and missed the remainder with a broken wrist).
