Athough Kobe dominated the match at the beginning of the U.S. scrimmages, Kobe gave Mayo credit for getting better as the match went along. Kobe also believes Mayo has the abilities to be a future star in the league.

"I think the world of him," Bryant said. "I think he's extremely talented. I think he has a great overall game that a lot of young players don't have in terms of skills. He can handle, he can shoot, he can pass, he's fast, he's quick, so that's the whole package."

That's big praise coming from Kobe. I'm not sure he passes out compliments much- so we should take note on this one......
I hope he exceeds my expectations

Let's hope he can. that way, the fans will have some excitement to look forward to in the upcoming season.

This is the reason that I was so excited draft night. Mayo will make the Grizzlies relevant in then NBA!!!

Laker fan here, nice to see Kobe giving props to an upcoming young player. I've also heard good stuff about Marc Gasol. Although it may take time, I see a bright future for your team. Your FO has made questionable, but logical moves within the past year.

Also it is MUCH easier to get FAs to join your team with guys like Mayo to attract them.

Just think if the Grizz add 2 really good players to this team next off-season with their cap room. Trade Critt this off-season for a 2009 1st rd pick and be done with it.
