if the "matchup" thing that Iavaroni mentioned last night holds true, Darko and Lowry should start again. Lowry will have a better chance against CP3.
Not much of one, but a bit better.

I agree on the Lowry point. Tonight the Grizz have an opportunity to string together two good games, hopefully they can do it - but they'll have to play excellent team defense to prevent CP3 from making plays after penetrating the lane.

We laid another egg tonight after looking like a real team last night. I don't know if we can lay this one on the coach as we were out of it in the first quarter. Marc Gasol seems to be taking not starting kinda hard but they did need more experience in the starting lineup. Rudy also came back to earth tonight after a hot shooting Friday night game. It seems like it may be more of the same as Wallace is unlikely to make a major move for a coach who may not be around in January.

I caught that line by Tillery about sticking with the current coaching staff until January - I'm assuming that's because Heisley wouldn't want to show the buyout on 08's tax returns - which is ridiculuous IMO. Either swing the ax or don't, but leaving Ivy in place as a lameduck coach gets the players, team, and franchise nowhere for the next month.

That may be true, but I have a feeling Wallace is loathe to deal say Crittenton if he thinks he can be a player at the point in this league but Ivy disagrees. He can simply wait him out and have someone he chooses take a second look and give him an opportunity to show what he has. Granted Crittenton is not actually a big move, but if something as simple as that is unlikely than something major in this disfunctional situation is probably highly unlikely. We have not seen any improvement from any player which is the result of the coach or his staff. Player development is a major issue to sit thru the three year plan, but if the players aren't improving or they look as thou they are not being coached up then what are we doing?

Maybe I was alittle bit misunderstood - I'm all for firing Ivy at this point. To me, the biggest issue is that we
know this team is capable of playing better, because they did just that at the beginning of the year. When you have drop off like we've had with a young team, it means either (1) the coach is inept or (2) the team has tuned him out IMO. But the notion that Heisley won't do anything about it until 1/01/09, because of tax reasons is just ... typical, honestly. In the meantime, we're wasting an entire month+ in terms of player and team development, because the guys know Ivy is as good as gone. Heisley either needs to fire him now or come out an unequivocally state that he's the coach until further notice.
