What do you all think of Mihm? He's going to be the new backup center for our squad. He has some talent, but never cracked the Lakers rotation largely because of his time off.

Any chance Foyle is waived?

There was a story about Foyle in the Memphis paper that leads me to believe that he won't be waived either. Foyle is (apparently) being kept to mentor Gasol and Milicic. The rationale behind keeping Mihm is for his contract. Even though it expires at the end of the season, Memphis would retain his bird rights which would allow for deal after the season, prior to those rights being revoked for cap space purposes. Same principle that allowed the Lakers to resign Aaron McKee and use him in the Gasol deal.

Foyle is a great lockeroom guy. He's loved by his teammates. As far as mentoring Darko, don't even get me started, he's a headcase. I used to be a big fan of his in Orlando but have come to realize that he's just a headcase with a lot of talent. It's very unlikely he'll ever put it together. So nobody can actually help mentor him. As far as Gasol, he's gonna be a very good starting center in this league. You guys got yourselves a keeper there, he'll be better than Pau in a couple of years.

I know that Foyle is known to be a good locker guy around the league. I wonder though how would he mentor both Gasol and Darko during the duration when he didn't managed to better his NBA career when he was with Warriors and Magic.

The same way that coaches who have never played basketball teach the game.

Sorry SD - but I have to disagree with you. I know it's a sweeping generalization, but more often than not it's the fringe players/role players that are the best coaches and not necessarily the former stars. Look at Walt Hriniak - fringe player, great batting instructor. Jeff Fisher wasn't a hall of fame player. Phil Jackson was at best a average/above averate player.

I guess when you put it like that, it make a good point. To paraphrase the whole "those who can't do, teach" deal.
