I feel like we should win this. We matchup up well with the Wolves. We are strong on the wing positions while they are either undersized or just not as good. (excluding Mike Miller)

And yet we are 0-2 against this Wolves team. I have a feeling that the Wolves will break the 10 game losing streak against the Grizz tonight.

Still, I sort of feel like the matchups favor us. Gomes and Love are not eons better than our frontline. (better definitely but not by that much)
And, their PG play is very off and on. (just like ours)
Look for Marc Gasol vs. Kevin Love to be the marquee matchup in this one.

Chris Vernon would blow the rooves thru the airwaves if his Love Train get those numbers tonight.

And if the team looks bad with Conley at PG.

Unfortunately it's more than just bad fits that are on this team.

Saw the spoiler. Consider me not surprised.
http://www.nba.com/games/20090311/MEMMIN/recap.htmlPlenty of things went wrong here.
1. Starters played long minutes.
2. 14-5 to the Wolves on off. rebounds and 34-23 to the Wolves on def. rebounds.
3. Passing game was crap as always.
4. Love and Miller outrebounded Gasol, Rudy, and Arthur combined.
5. Rely on the 3ball too much going 3-12 from the field.
6. Losing by 25pts.
7. Team still lousy excuse of BS.

^^ I can't even say it was a nice call considering how bad the score turn out to be. I know you can only work with what you have as a coach, but these guys haven't put in the effort to at least go down fighting.
It comes down to psychological mindsets. If you're playing for a playoff team in which you're expected to set up to help your team win games, that what you have to do or take a seat on the sidelines. If you're on a piss poor team with no direction but down and out year after year. How would a team like that inspire any kind of hope to at least try to stay motivated to show any signs of fight on the hardwood on game nights? Doesn't work like that.

The thing is though, that these guys are not career losers. Conley Jr., Warrick, and Gay have at least enjoyed some success with winning teams in college. A mentality of losing is usually more instituted in the fabric of the organization, but not necessarily the players. The "it's good enough mentality." Making the playoffs was good enough for the franchise. (some thought this) Truth be told, West realized that something needed to be done- for that, at least, I am grateful. But I do not think the players like OJ and Conley Jr. are so far removed from winning that they are stuck in the circle of crappiness that has been Grizzlies basketball since its existence.
