Hey, big UConn fan here... just wanted to ask about Rudy Gay.
What do you think are his strengths? Weaknesses? What are some key things that you'd like for him to improve on?
And what type of players do you guys think Rudy Gay should be surrounded around in order to be a star? Because I read somewhere that he will not be a star in Memphis because OJ will overshadow him and he doesn't match their offense anyways.

Rudy has first option talent with a 2nd or 3rd option demeanor. IMO he needs to be more aggressive and attack the rim more.

Rudy is not as mentally tough as we would like, and that is not to say that he is a mental midget. He does not have the mindset to be an assassin, which is very unfortunate considering his skill set. He does not require the basketball or the offense to go thru him so lately it is not uncommon for him to score less than 15 points for an entire game. He is in his third year and he hasn't figured out what is his bread and butter shots and demonstrated dramatic improvement. His body language has been awful this year so his leadership skills could also be questioned. It seems he is well suited for a complimentary role or second in command and not the Alpha Dog we need him to be.

Really skilled and athletic, but goes through the motions a lot.

In his defence - he has had how many coaches in NBA?
I would have some bad body language at work if my boss changed that much too. But of course I too have been disappointed. I was hoping after the Most Improved award stolen from him last year, he'd be Allstar level (though obviously snubbed by the voters, unless he was outplaying Lebron) this year.

Rudy's game has really bounced back during the last 6 games (5 wins)
Points - 22.0
Boards - 6.3
FG% - 53.8%
