The only thing funny (hilarious as a matter of fact) is Jaric's salary. How badly does Memphis want him off the books? It's not like teams will line up around the block to take on his salary. It's all give and take.

Rubio is still very young and who knows how ready he will be, I would be holding onto Conley to allow Rubio to come off the bench for a year at least.

The Clippers might be interested in swapping him for Zach Randolph. :D

Chad Ford is a total joke. He hates the Grizzlies and wants them to fail. He also stated that Memphis would take Thabeet over Griffin, which is downright bull ****.

It'll be interesting to see what happens with Conley if things proceed as they seem to be headed. There's no doubt that his value increased greatly with his play at the end of the season. Folks that think he'll be moved on the cheap are either fooling themselves or aren't aware of how well he played once Hollins took over and Lowry was moved. The Blazers are a fit - but the way their GM acted in regards to the Miles situation makes it appear that there's likely bad blood.

No doubt that things got MUCH more interesting after the selection seeding tonight.

Would you be interested in Blake/Outlaw/#24 for Conley/Jaric?

Blake is a solid PG vet that can add some stability to the PG position while Rubio gets his bearings. Portland would also probably be willing to part with Bayless/Sergio if they are preferable - it just makes the salary-match more complicated.

I would throw Conley at the Kings and see if I can get Jason Thompson (don't know if they'd bite a bigger package would probably have to be assembled).

The reason the Kings consider this is so that they can draft and start Jordan Hill.

*Or I guess you could trade Conley FOR Jordan Hill.

I posted this a week ago on the trade board, but since you guys got the number 2 pick I think it would make more sense for you guys now. Is this close to fair value in your opinions:

Portland sends:
Travis Outlaw
Martell Webster
Jerryd Bayless
Sergio Rodriguez
24th pick
35th pick
Cash considerations
TPE

Portland recieves:
Richard Jefferson
Mike Conley
Darrell Arthur
Malik Allen

Memphis sends:
Mike Conley
Darrell Arthur
Marko Jaric

Memphis recieves:
Jerryd Bayless
Martell Webster
Luke Ridnour
10th pick

Milwaukee sends:
Richard Jefferson
Malik Allen
Luke Ridnour
10th pick

Milwaukee recieves:
Sergio Rodriguez
Travis Outlaw
Marko Jaric
24th pick
35th pick
Cash Considerations
TPE

With the 10th pick you could pick up a big like DeJuan Blair to fill the 4 spot, and its not like there is a huge need for Conley since you will be taking Rubio. Also sheds you of Jaric's salary. Milwaukee gets the capspace to resign Sessions and CV and Portland completes their lineup and consolidates the rotation.

I'd prefer Memphis to receive Outlaw as opposed to Webster. Not enthused with Bayless either, would prefer Sergio. Shedding Jaric's salary is nice and all, but the Grizz are so far under the cap already that's it's just not priority #1 to move it.

Just my 2 cents.

Actually, I think he proposed a great deal. Webster just signed an extension, so he is locked up long term and he would be a great 3rd guard behind Rubio and OJ. Hell, he could even start if Rubio struggles coming out of the gate and allow OJ to run the point.

As for Bayless, he probably doesn't fit into our long term plans, but he is great value that could be used in another trade (included in a package to acquire a guy like Amare Stoudemire for example), and the 10th pick could land us a great talent like Earl Clark, while Luke Ridnour would be the backup PG we have sorely needed since the Lowry trade. I love this deal, but I don't know about Milwaukee.
