I'm glad they're at least keeping their options open. My personal favorite in this class is Johnny Flynn. I just think he has that "it" factor and is a true leader with lots of confidence and swagger who rises to the challenge when the game is on the line. But who knows. I'm not a fly on the wall and can see these guys in person.

The names Ty Evans and Jrue Holiday mentioned may indicate they're leaning towards a combo guard and keeping Conley. I suppose if they can swing a trade to move down from #2 and get one of these guys plus a power forward or another player or pick that's not too bad of a move.

Maybe they still are determined they're going after a free agent power forward and simply want to max out on talent regardless of position. Getting two for one that can have an impact is never a bad thing.

Actually Chris Wallace said early in the season on a local radio station that he envisioned a guard that could handle the ball alongside Mayo. That seems to exclude Conley because he wouldn't do well as a backup. Evans fits what Wallace looks for the most.

Hypothetically speaking, would you guys trade the pick for picks 5 and 14?

You know how many midgets (6'0 or shorter) have been picked top10 this decade? 3

You dont draft a midget with the 2nd pick unless he's Isiah Thomas or Nate Archibald.

I hate to sound like one of those homer type of fans or whatever.

But seriously it looks like the grizz are going to have to trade rubio somewhere (hopefully the kings) at the same time the kings arent going to overpay.

Please lets find a middle ground for rubio.

Basically the kings pieces off the table are (hawes/thompson/martin) we obviously would trade the number 4 pick.... plus maybe a future 1st round pick top 6 or 8 or so protected. Or whatever else you guys want.

Or we would probably even think about trading you guys kevin martin straight up (i'm a little iffy on that but it seems that some kings fans might do it)

One thing for sure is that if rubio wasnt trying to force himself to la or sacramento we probably wouldnt be having this conversation. But because he has and it seems like he is trying to force himself to a place where he would be the starting point guard ( sacramento) it seems like he is going to at least deminish your guys value for him. So take kings homerism out and grizz homerism out.

You talk about taking out the homerism and then say Rubio is trying to force himself to Sacramento. Nice job on putting your foot in your mouth.

How did I say that? All the articles I read say rubio wants to either play in la ( clippers) or sacramento. And doesnt want to play witht he grizz or okc. How is that being a homer?

And just like I told you... no thompson hawes or martin with the number 4.

Don't believe me heres a brand new article that backs this up also. Found on hoopshype.com
Rubio And The Kings?: It seems the Kings might end up with their man after all, word is the Kings are working on a deal with Memphis to land Ricky Rubio at #2, league sources say a lot is still up in the air and a deal is far from done, but should the two teams make a deal it is not going to include Jason Thompson as some have speculated. Any deal between the Kings and Grizzlies might include future draft picks but unlikely will include a roster player of subtsance. League sources contend that Memphis really does not have a lot of leverage in this situation as Rubio will not play for the Grizzlies. The Kings are willing to deal for Rubio and unless Oklahoma City gets in the mix, moving down to #4 still fits Memphis' game plan. The Kings are preparing a contingent plan that could include grabbing Jordan Hill at #4, which would be a solid "win-now" move if the Grizzlies hold out for more compensation. League sources say if the Grizzlies move down to #4, Tyreke Evans would be their man on draft night, which makes sense, considering Evans can play both point guard and shooting guard, backing up OJ Mayo and Mike Conley and would be immensely popular with the Memphis fan base.
