PHX/MEM/WA Trade

Post#1 » by phxsports » Tue Jun 9, 2009 5:17 pm

Phx trades- Amare Stoudemire, 14th pick
Phx Receives- Antawn Jamison, 2nd pick

Memphis trades- 2nd pick
Memphis receives- 5th pick, 14th, pick

Washington trades- Antawn Jamison, 5th pick
Washington recieves- Amare Stoudemire

The suns have been shoping amare stoudemire and this trade in my opinion is great for them they get a 20-10 power forward and a young point guard with potential

There has been rumors that amare willl land in washington. I think its resonable for washington.

I want to know if this is a fair deal to the grizzlies

Not nearly enough coming back to Memphis to persuade them to move down 3 slots.

Well, if Phoenix wants the #2 pick, I think the best route to go is a Miami/Memphis/Phoenix swap in which Miami gets Stoudemire, Phoenix gets the #2 pick, and Memphis gets Michael Beasley. I have been advocating a deal like that for quite some time.

Well obviously parts would be added to each side to make salary work. Why wouldn't Phoenix do that deal? Didn't you just propose a deal that had them getting Rubio?

There would have to be fillers involved to make it work. The Suns aren't going to get the 2nd without the Grizz getting paid, and as it has been pointed out, your opening offer was weaksauce.

Jamison is the very last thing Phoenix needs right now. An aging PF with a fat contract? Not exactly the kind of player you want taking up salary on a rebuilding team.

get serious iaao. phx's starting pf after that deal would be amundson, and rubio would be behind nash anyway. yeah a decent backup pg would be nice for em but cmon if u think they'd do that trade u r a dreamer. quality bigs are hard to come by

1) Rubio would be Nash's replacement long term.
2) Yes, quality bigs are very hard to come by, but Stoudemire is not going to stay in Phoenix after his contract expires, and if you think he is, well, you are the dreamer.
3) In YOUR face.

Phoenix doesn't do this, nor does Memphis. Move up 12 spots in a pretty crapshoot draft and take on a long contract of an aging big that will not be part of our future and give up our franchise player? HELL NAW.
