Boozer for Milicic and #2

Post#1 » by blackham9258 » Wed Jun 10, 2009 4:14 am

If Boozer doesn't opt out, and he was on a one year contract, would you trade Milicic and your #2 Pick to the Jazz for a 20/10 power forward with the right keep in the next year?

No. And I now think this thread should be retitled "The Official ***** Trade Proposal Thread" and stickied.

You could get Boozer for max contract. Pairing him with Thabeet could work well. Thabeet blocking shots, Boozer cleaning boards. Conley, Mayo and Gay have 3 pt range.
I should be on Lacob payroll...

Utah could get the #2 for Deron Williams.

Houston, which is a little tougher the only tangible asset is Yao and while he is better than Marc Gasol we don't really take a giant leap with him, so you actually don't have anything we want to net the #2 pick.

Heisley already said that he is not signing Boozer without saying his name specifically. So we're not going after Boozer.

Actually we have some assets, we have Brooks, Scola or Landry. A lot of teams would love to have Scola on their team, not sure if we would unload him though. Brooks/Landry is something interesting for you guys.

I think he meant the 2nd round draft pick. In that case, I say yes!

I just checked back with this thread to see where the Grizzly fans are at on this proposal. I found the Deron Williams for the #2 hillarious. Boozer is a top 5-7 power forward in the league and a legit 20/10 guy. He is a 3-time All Star, 2-time olympian etc. Now, I understand not wanting a guy, but this is the weakest draft in 10 years and the #2 pick is even weaker this year than it has been in the past. I want Thebeat on our team, and that is who I would pick if we did this deal, but I would cross my fingers that he might turn out to be half of what Dikembie was. You guys need low post scoring like nothing else, but hey that is fine.

FYI, the Charlotte board was 80% in favor of a Boozer for Okafor deal, and Okafor is 10x more valuable than this years #2. In my opinion, you need to be more realistic about the value of this years #2 pick regardless of your interest in Boozer.

Wohoo! You asked our opinions, you didn't like what you heard - so you can go away knowing that you educated us all. Well done man, well done indeed.

i only said that because

1. this draft is weak as ****, no stars will come from this one..not even griffin.
2. we are rumored to be interested in getting the 2nd pick
3. i already know we will be picking hasheem thabeet, who i hate..dude sucks
4. the 2 pick is not worth ruining our core. i wouldn't even want to give brooks and landry up. i just wanted to gauge how valuable it was to you.

now that i know its worth way more than landry and brooks....no way. not at all worth it.

good luck though.

If by "interesting" you mean "a godawful borderline sadomasochistic trade," then yes - Brooks/Landry for the #2 is "interesting" indeed.

And that is completely irrelevant if he walks in a year. You're kidding yourself if you think the Grizz would trade a bonafide asset - whether you believe it or not, more than a handful of GMs believe Rubio will be a star and be available at #2 - for a one year rental. If you want something of value, you have to give something of value.

Brooks > Conley > Rubio

Scola > Landry > Warrick and Arthur combined

This years draft isn't even all that great. If you arnt the #1 pick, then there really isn't anyone to look forward to. Rubio is very raw and wont really be able to compete in this league for quite some time as he adjust his physical and mental attributes.
