With the Raps looking into the chance of trading Bosh to keep from potentially losing him when he becomes a free agent. If the Grizz were to manage a trade for Bosh, what pieces could the Grizz offer and would Bosh fit alongside Gasol in the frontcourt and in Hollins system?

Re: Chris Bosh
A trade for Chris Bosh only happens if he signs an extension upon arrival, which is highly unlikely.
But if it were to happen, I'd imagine something along the lines of Rudy Gay, Darko Milicic, Greg Bucker and a first round pick or two would be reasonable. Bosh would fit well next to Marc Gasol in the front court. I don't know enough about Hollins or his system to really grasp how well Bosh would perform.

Re: Chris Bosh
I hope it works out and he stays in Toronto. Most likely though, he will be moved. I see Memphis with a chance to get in as a facilitator, helping one of the big market teams (Cleveland, Miami, Chicago, New York) grab him. Should be interesting.

Re: Chris Bosh
You raise an interesting subject. We all saw how the Grizzlies helped out teams in a small way during the season with trades to rework others finances. I wonder if the same might happen this draft in a much larger fashion.
With so much cap space could the Grizzlies become that third team in a couple of trades that not only help other teams but perhaps net themselves either a draft pick or a couple of worthy bench players?

Re: Chris Bosh
Actually, I think the Grizz would have a better than average chance at signing the Texas native. I really don't buy into all these so called Alpha dogs chomping at the bit to play along side one another by choice, potentially taking less money to be someone's sidekick in hopes of winning a championship. I know the Boston model is fresh in everyone's head but those guys came together via trade and the option of taking less money was never put before them. Garnett eventually signed an extension but it is not considered he took a paycut if you look at the life of the deal. Bosh would gladly come to Memphis if they are on the cusp of something meaningful and there power forward situation is still not defined in 2010. There is no clear cut lead dog here so he could easily take the reigns and put it all together. In cases like these Toronto would give Memphis a small window to speak with Bosh's rep to see how amenable he would be to an extension before the deal would be done. I would rather have Amare over Bosh because the teams needs toughness and Bosh is a little too finese at times.

Re: Chris Bosh
I think the other thing pointing towards some of these guys legitimately wanting to team up is the experience that they had on Team USA and in Bejing. It's not just a "what if" for them, it's a "it was and could be..."

Re: Chris Bosh
Although I wouldn't mind Amare coming to the M-town, the obvious question remains would Amare come to here to help this team rise up from rock bottom or will he detest the idea to play for a team that's still a work in progress. The same question about Bosh as well.

If we couldnt land an allstar once Pau was here and we had 3 playoff aperances in a row with almost 50 wins. what makes you think that bosh or amare would want to come here? even thabeet doesnt want to! tho it is true we really need a big man inside.
Lets pick the spaniard in the draft and lets see how he fits in the team with OJ and Gay.

Oh, there's no doubt. I just don't see a trade being agreed to in conjunction with Bosh signing an extension.

Buckner has a team buyout of $2 million - $1 million this year and next. He's not a bad contract. The Grizz also have cap space and Darko (expiring). Jaric wouldn't even have to be part of the equation. IF Bosh were delivered extended, then the #2 pick would be no issue at all. However, that ain't happening.

A core of Conley, Mayo, Gay, and the right FA acquisition could be enough to convince Bosh to stay.
