Miller moves on again

The Washington Wizards are close to a deal that would send the No. 5 pick in Thursday's draft, Oleksiy Pecherov, Etan Thomas and Darius Songaila to the Minnesota Timberwolves for Randy Foye and Mike Miller, a league source told ESPN The Magazine's Ric Bucher on Tuesday.

The Wolves would then keep the draft pick and their own selection at No. 6 and not try to package those to move up, a source told ESPN.com's Andy Katz.

The deal would be finalized on Wednesday, in advance of the draft, another source told Katz.

I'd love to see the Grizz offer Buckner to the Wizards for Miller. Would save them a ton of cash and give the Grizz a legit outside threat again...

I am shocked at what Minnesota gave up for the #5 pick and the other pieces they took on. The number of bodies coupled with the report this was an effort to package the #5, & #6 for the #2 leads me to believe that the deal may be much larger than just that.

Andy Katz says they would keep the pick, but multiple teams were attempting to get that pick from Washington to package with there own lottery pick for the #2.

I have a hunch for some reason that Al Jefferson and not Kevin Love may be in play. I had a feeling that the Grizz asking price was pretty high and that Minnesota took a huge step in making it happen.
They acquired an awful lot of bigs.

I think the deal may ultimately be Jefferson, #5, and #18 for Conley & #2. This may just be wishful thinking on my part but I believe the asking price has been a lottery pick and a young power forward. Conley is in there because I think there target is Thabeet to play along side Kevin Love. They also retain there #6 to add another point guard if they so choose but Memphis would get the #5 because they want Tyreke Evans.

Like I said this is just a feeling, but during last years draft I couldn't sleep and I knew something important had happened. I checked ESPN News and it turned out we acquired OJ. It's just a feeling.

Moving Conley and the 2 - which would move Mayo to the point and mean that 18 or 27 would be used on a backup point - would potentially lead to Lionel Hollins spontaneously combusting - which mind you, wouldn't be such a bad thing...

Have you noticed that head coaches who were former point guards are hardest on what position?

Point guards

I have no idea why?

I would... I would faint.

Mayo
Evans/Curry/Harden/DeRozan
Gay
Jefferson
Gasol

Yeah, it's definately wishful thinking on your part, but how magical it would be if it were reality.

theres no way were giving up Al Jefferson. Maybe Love but not Big Al. your gonna have to overpay GREATLY to get Big Al from us. add to the fact that you have us giving up 5 and 18 along with Al just makes it even more rediculous man.

I'm curious to see what a trade between the Wolves and Grizz looks like if it does go down. Every proposal I've seen and come up with on my own seems to be lopsided for one team or the other. #5, #18, and another protected first from MN may be the closest deal, particularly if the protected first is for next years draft since MN is keeping their pick this year (#6) but trading other picks they hold.

One being floated in Memphis is 2+Gasol+Jaric for 5+Love+Cardinal. The kicker being that Thabust is available @ 5. Meh.
