so the main point of the trade for memphis is we let buckner's salary go and we get a 2nd pick?

I think it is great for us (if i understood well the trade)

It´s look like that we also got $0.5M to Heisley´s pocket.

Don't forget we also managed to help a division rival improve. Sweet.

You can reunite Stackhouse and Iverson.

Really it was a minor smart trade for the Grizzlies. They traded someone they were going to cut for someone they are going to cut that makes less money, guaranteed, then the other guy.

Stack and AI played together briefly and Stack got the broom to make way for AI.

A minor deal that isn't going to make them any better, yes, but a good move just the same. Correct me if I'm wrong. Whichever way Memphis handles Buckner he was going to cost them at something the next two seasons with his buyout. Stackhouse costs them only this season. And in reality it costs them nothing. Plus old man Heisley gets some money and the team gets a second round pick(yeah, I know, big deal).

About the only way this can hurt them is if sometime during next season they have a chance at a big trade and that $2mil on the cap is enough to prevent it. At least they've consolidated a wasted roster spot.

Meh, we help'd a rival for what, one year maybe? Marion's decline has begun and is pronounced. This deal won't look so good next year or the year after that...

I bet Heisley's trying to make Sterling take Stackhouse + QRich now for Z'Bo. That way it's only $2 extra to the Clippers, but that much more off HeislyCo's books...

^^^Stack waived by Grizz as plan. So much for your theory on Stack and Q to the Clips for ZBo.

True. It's really just the principle: Heisley is willing to help out a division rival if it means he gets to line his pocket with a little extra cash. To twist an old saying - with an owner like that, who needs enemies.
