On Thursday, Jason Williams held a rather disappointing workout with the Memphis Grizzlies, sources tell RealGM's Alex Kennedy.

One witness described Williams as "a shadow of his former self" and said that while the point guard was in shape, he didn't perform well.

During a shooting drill in which each shot was charted, Williams shot an awful thirty percent from the field.

Sources say Grizzlies' general manager Chris Wallace is up in the air about signing Williams but owner Michael Heisley is very interested in bringing him back to Memphis.

Williams played four seasons with the Grizzlies before joining the Miami Heat in 2005.

If this is true then J-Will's chances for a return to the Grizz went from slim to none. Is it a case where he's been rusty since he last played organized ball two yrs ago? We also know he isn't the best consistant shooter as he shown tendencies to jack up 3balls with reckless abandon. So will he be the same J-Will from what we used to know. Probably not since he's north of 30yrs old now. More likely he'll be on a playoff team roster and won't be expected to do a lot of things outside of gettin his teammates involve in the game, slash to the post when neccessary and maybe drop a 3ball off as long as he isn't jackin it up.

They said he looked OK in NY. But I think was just to try and build value for a deal.

Good sir. Did Partimers kick in and cause you to temporarily forget who the owner is? We heard that Heisley would let him comeback before we heard about this workout. This article still reaffirms that Heisley wants him. More proof why an owner should not be heavily involved. Sometimes it almost feels like he's intentionally going to opposite way of what the basketball guys feel.

How can you forget considering the hell this team still going thru. The thing I have with the owners is what is the point of hiring a GM to do the job of luring the best talent available if the owener continues to put his foot in the business. Either you trust the GM to do his job or you don't.

As for J-Will, he's better off elsewhere.

I hope he makes it because then I might have a shot next year to try out. I think I could hit 30% and I'll only be 29 years old. My dream comes true! :D
