A suit has been filed against Memphis Grizzlies guard O.J. Mayo for breach of contract over nearly $150,000 in custom jewelry, according to a complaint filed in Los Angeles Superior Court.
According to the complaint, Mayo, who played at USC during the 2007-08 season, met with representatives of the store on April 1, 2008, to request "specially manufactured" jewelry.
The order included a diamond bangle, diamond ring, diamond necklace, watch and bracelet. Further orders, "as much as $150,000 a year," were to be expected, according to the complaint.

If you got money, you're (eventually) going to get sued for something.

Re: Mayo sued over jewelry
The way they are writing the headline is very misleading. They are writing like he took possesion of the jewelry and did not pay for it, as opposed to not fulfilling some form of the agreement by placing an annual order. I'm sure once he became a professional that he thought better of spending that much a year on ice and the image he wanted to project. This is hardly police blotter material they are making it out to be.
A report I read earlier did not mention him not paying for the original order. This link said just that.
Opps!
