If RC rolls out. Who will step up as the new AD? How will he or she upgrade the program and make it better than what RC has doen to this point? The bball program is on the road to recovery after taking a stiff jab to the biscuit for major violations. The football program hasn't seen much success since the days of DeAngelo Williams. How will it all be assess?

A perfect example of "what have you done for me lately".

U of M fans would be better served with a tablespoon of reality to temper the expectations.

The only negatives are the handling of the Basketball head coach search which could turn out to be a stroke of genius, and not getting into the Big East conference, but was the interest mutual which would lend it self to being beyond his control. Hence how is this his fault? Which is the main reason Caulkins is saying he should bow out as opposed to he has done something worthy of being fired.

In this town if there is something negative to say regarding sports you can bet the "730 three headed monster" will find it and say it.

Handling of the Basketball search
Substandard Football facilities
Not moving to a BCS conference

RC can raise money and smooze with the boosters. That's about it. Create a position for him. The school needs a high energy, forward thinking AD that isn't stuck in the Graceland era.

X Coach found us.
DeAngelo wasn't capitalized and followed up.

The athletic department is stuck in sit and spin mode. FWIW, I've been calling for RC to move on long before the X Coach fiasco...

In case of football. This city has been prone to the bball side of athletics rather than football for a long time. When DeAngelo Williams came thru, he kept football in the news with made the team look pretty good for a minute. Since his departure, football has been all but a moot point. Was that intentional to keep football down in the basement with Cal on the scene and making things happen on the side of bball. Without any gifted talent in football for ppl to talk about, football is not going to get as much attention as it did during the DeAngelo Williams era.
