My Apologies

Sorry i've been kind of on the down low lately. Summer is generally a slower time on the board. So I back off just a little, but my Daughter was just born last Saturday. The last month or so has been nothing short of a race to remake a room into a Nursery. My Apologies.

Very Off Topic Below:

Now on to the story:

My wife tells me on Friday 9/4/09 at 9:00pm that she is having a few cramps. It was nothing major or so we thought. So we went to bed about 11:30pm. She wakes up on Saturday 9/5/09 at 1:50 saying she felt something pop. She goes into use the restroom and here comes the water. So I call the mid-wife to hurry over.

Being proactive, I run here a bath in the Jacuzzi tub. Still in the restroom, she decides that she may not be able to do the homebirth and would like to go to the hospital. She I go wake up my 13yr old Daughter.

My wife then jumps in a shower to help ease the pain. I have a strange feeling we won't make it to Hospital, so I get my daughter to get the Birthing Supplies together. I then go back in to check on my wife.
As I enter the bathroom, she screams bloody murder. I ask her whats wrong. She states, I feel the head.

So we race her into the tub. She gets into the tub and out slides baby. She never pushed nothing. Baby was born at 2:10 am. A freaking 20 minute labor. Needless to say the Mid Wife didn't show up for another hour. So I ended up delivering the baby by myself.

Good News, everyone is healthy and doing good.

Congrats on havin the baby boogie. The kid looks good and healthy. Also sounds like you had a hellva time between your wife's contractions to the birth of the baby. I bet those 20 mins seem like a long time since you ended up delivering the baby yourself.

Dang man, congrats. Impressed with the ability to handle all that. My wife and I just had a baby a few months back and it was enough of a difficult time dealing with all of the hospital stuff. Welcome to the club, hope you enjoy every second :)

Been in the club.....lol my oldest is 15 and this was baby #5.

We had been doing Birthing Classes, so it was really pretty easy. Keeping her calm was the hardest part. But this was by far the greatest experience of my life.

Screw a Hospital.... I would definately recommend Home Births.
