DET sends you:
PG Rodney Stuckey (17/6/4)
PG Will Bynum (15/4/4)
C Kwame Brown (expiring)

You send DET:
C Marc Gasol
PG Mike Conley

Theoretically could work but the fact that Kwame was insulted and banned from the court while he was here in Memphis would make chances of the trade zero. Memphis org, in their great wisdom, decided Kwame has no value in NBA so it's never going to be a trade they'd do.

You could, in essance, trade for Brown and immediately waive him to save money, as he's an expiring contract.

Or send Kwame and his expiring somewhere else (New Orleans?) for other pieces.

Rumors have it Gasol will bolt via free agency anyway after next season - might as well trade him for young pieces now than lose him for nothing.

From a fan's perspective I'd pass. Seriously, I like Stuckey and all, but I'd loath parting with Marc. Swap out Marc for Thabeet and you have yourself a deal though...

This trade allows Thabeet to see action this season....

EDIT: Along with your other two 7-footers....

Marc is a cornerstone of the franchise in my eyes, so I would pass.

He's a cornerstone that will bolt the minute he becomes a free agent....

You need to trade him for other players you can build around.

Stuckey / Bynum
Mayo / Stuckey
Gay
Randolph
Thabeet / Hunter / Haddadi

Restricted free agency sir.

Stuckey is a promising PG and Bynum is a good backup, but centers that can score 15+ PPG and grab 10+ RPG are hard to give up.

Id rather give you Thabeet.

I agree with the others. Make it Thabeet and you've got yourself a deal. Marc Gasol is as close to untouchable as a player on a 2-8 team can get.

Exactly - in Detroit.

And as was pointed out, Marc's contract structure will give the Grizz the ability to match offers in his restricted free agency period.

Marc is probably the only player who plays with heart. We really can“t afford to lose him.

I've never heard these rumors. Do you have a link to substantiate them?

POR offers Andre Miller (after Dec. 15) and Patty Mills for Conley/Hunter. Miller just does not fit with Roy, gives you a solid PG to run things for a few years.

On the trade board I said I would accept this trade offer if nothing more than just to see if an experienced pointguard, who knows how to run a team and play uptempo can make a difference. Conley, for all his athleticism and individual skills, just doesn't seem to be the ingredient that elevates this team, as unfair as that burden to put on his shoulders may be.

I love how the OP comes up with the "Marc is going to bolt rumor" when it's baseless assumption at best. Gasol has already shown early in this season that he's worth way more than that and re-emphasizes the waste of the #2 pick.
