GREAT YOUNG CORE
Grizzles have a great core of players. i feel geting a point guard like andra miller type of player to help young studs of mayo gay and gasol will only help/ also feel get rid of randolph. yes hes been good this year no drama but puting the offence around mayo gay and gasol and adding a player like luis scola who doesnt demand shots but a key player can put the Grizzlies into elite form. what do you guys think

Re: GREAT YOUNG CORE
or even allowing Thabeet to start. Yes no offence of game however at 7'3 all you want is rebounds and block shots

Another Canadian besides myself on the Grizzlies board? Are you from Vancouver as well?
We think alike in that I also view a veteran or two as the time when this team actually begins to climb up the ranks. Until then I see the team continuing the fourth quarter meltdowns. There's something to be said for experience and savvy to pull games out down the stretch.
I have no qualms with Randolph this year. He's done exactly what he was brought in for. Offensive rebounding and inside scoring. I don't think they expected anything more from him. But he's on a two year rental so I don't see him in their long range plans. I've been intrigued the few times they've put Gasol at power forward with Thabeet at center. But that's a real experiment at this point.
They do have some nice young talent but I'm not sure the pieces all fit together well. Time will tell and it's up to Lionel Holins to get them playing team ball and be on the same page. That's the important factor with this young team ( the youngest in the league I've read ).

Re: GREAT YOUNG CORE
ZBo is making me eat crow thus far. He's been efficient offensively, rebounding well and passes more than I thought. His defense sucks, but I knew that from the get-go.
And yes, veterans will need to be added. I have a couple in mind for the summer but meh, we'll see.

To me as long as ZBo does what he does best minus the drama. He's good to go. So far, I'm liking the ZBO/Gasol connection. One spreads out the offense and rebounds while the other and put back shots and hit the boards as well along with playing tough defense.
Gasol/Thabeet experiment is something I'm a little concern with. Both of them are prone to foul trouble especially Thabeet in his first season. If it happens it could take place near the end of the season or sometime next season depending on how Thabeet's progress is going.
