This ATL team are about as athletic as they come. They attack the boards at will and they can snakebite a team on second chance points if they see the opportunity. If the Grizz expect to beat the Hawks. Not only the Grizz must beat them on the boards. They need to slow the Hawks offense down and force them to take shots around the perimeter. Also match up on the Hawks on defense. They can't ill afford to screw around with them.

Go Grizz!

I'm liking the ball movement so far...turnovers are killing them.

wow, sam young deserves the worst player of th G. that three straights TO he was involved, when we got close in the scoreboard, he misses a easy layup and a bad pass to gay so they are up by 10,next play, josh smith overpasses him and another easy layup for em. wow man, that is a bad day.

Not too surprised with the loss. Though I wis the TOs' were lower than the 20 they collected tonight. Offensively Sam Young had a good night. Unfortunately his crucial TOs' put a wrench into stats. The team didn't do a good job in the second half particularity on the defensive end to stop the Hawks run in the third quarter. The offensive production fell off forthe Grizz in the second half as we can see with Sam Young lead the team in scoring for tonight's game.

Don't be fooled by the box score. Sam Young was best player in garbage time. He was playing pretty good before that but had some real bad luck. Nothing would drop and he also made some slight errors though - which there's no margin for in these games unfortunately.

They just fell flat in the 3rd Quarter while the Hawks could not miss if they tried.

Not a bad loss in the long run. Atlanta is (IMO) one of the most talented teams in the league 1-10. They have (again IMO) outstanding bench depth and have clicked chemistry wise on all fronts. Can't wait til Friday's game with the Pacers.

Sam Young statpadded for an entire quarter and a half of garbage time. He got wrecked by Joe Johnson on both sides of the ball - not all of which can be attributed to rookie mistakes.

That said, I think you guys will have a lot to look forward to in a few years - you really remind me of the Hawks a few years ago, when we just made the playoffs and took the Celtics to 7. You just need a solid veteran leadership presence (not Z-Bo), and to resign Gay to a reasonable contract and give it time.

interesting to see Atlanta get demolished by the Nuggets team that we slaughtered a few nights later... and for Cleveland to demolish SAC in OT (whereas we defeated them!). We defnitely are out of the toilet bowl right now!!! :P
