Time to stop messing around with this L-W-L-W-L-W pattern and put together a few wins.

^^^Exactly. It's way past time to keep screwing around. It's either put up or shut up. There is only a month in a half left in the season. We are playing in the extremely tough WC. We can't just rely on onther teams losing game in order for us to get into the playoff race. We have to fight our way in or our playoff drought will continue.

1. Haddadi is an idiot, bring Thabeet back
2. Mayo played like crap
3. Conley is going through a horrible stretch where he either goes 3-12 or commits 5+ to's
4. Gasol and Z-Bo had like 5 shots combined in the 2nd half when they had like 40 points in the paint in the 1st half, moronic
5. Rudy Gay is going overboard with the 1 on 1
6. Get Kalin Lucas and James Anderson in the draft to fix the putrid bench
7. Playoff push is pretty much over

These are the games that will be pointed to when Heisley decides not to match a ridiculus offer for Rudy. Anything north of 12 mill would be a colosal mistake. He can not carry a team and he does not make anyone any better playing along side of him. I am not placing this loss on him as Mayo was even more dreadful, but this game and others like it are more indicative of a case being made that he is not the lead dog and should not be paid like one. As for what options we have if we don't match, I really can't say?

There's lots of options. A sign and trade? A free agent(Salmons?). The draft(Aminu, Ebanks, Wesley Johnson)? Trade the pick?
I wouldn't get too bent out of shape about this game. It looks like for whatever reason the team didn't prepare well and more than one player didn't show up. Or sometimes a team just has a bad game. Take away that one horrible quarter and it was close. Rudy Gay scored 19 points against argueably one of the best defensive small forwards in the league in Batum.
Let's not forget Portland is a really good team and Brandon Roy a fantastic leader. From what I read he challenged his team at halftime and they responded. I hear you about Gay not being that kind of leader, but I think a player either has that in him or he doesn't. It's not a trait you develop in my opinion. I can't slam Rudy Gay for not being that kind of player.
But I do think they could use that ingredient for sure. I wished Mayo could be that guy, but he has been more of a complimentary player this season.

I seriously don't understand why coach Hollins doesn't play Jamaal Tinsley at all. We are 23-13 when he has played and the last game he played for the Grizz was on 5th february. Instead of him Hollins plays Marcus Williams who doesn't know sh*t about basketball

actually, it was Roy on Gay. Batum defended Mayo most of the night which in large part explains Mayo's performance (although Batum wasn't guarding Mayo when Mayo was shooting FT's)

Roy is a leader but this has been a difficult season for him. The Blazers never got in sync early in the season, in no small part because Roy was having difficulty adjusting to Andre Miller and Greg Oden being legitimate options on offense. Then Oden went down. Roy and Miller finally started to develop some chemistry when Roy injured his hamstring. He's still not healthy, and that was in evidence last night as he didn't have full lateral quickness to defend Gay or his normal explosion on dribble penetration.
But he's still able to assert his will on the team. Blaming Gay because he may not be able to do the same is a bit unfair. Gay has his talents, and some are quite good.

I didn't think I blamed him for the loss but I merely pointed out his inability to carry a team when they need it most will give our owner justification in not matching an offer viewed as overpaying for what he brings to the table. I love his skillset but for a team looking to get better and other areas needing to be addressed can the organization afford to keep him?
